Anyone else get bad anxiety from over doing it on the opioids? I have had this issue on numerous occasions, it happened to me today. Usually it happens after I have been dosing all day, normally its later in the day.

Today was pretty bad. I am on Subs but I grabbed some H cause I am on a mini vacation from work. I take 2 mg subs twice a day, so I waited 15 hours form my last subs and was using yesterday and into today. I'm pretty sure the stuff is rather potent compared to what I usually get, it had a strong acetic smell and a very bitter drip that is of course what I like to see. Also, I'd imagine its hitting me harder with each line cause the Subs are causing less and less blockade.

So I ripped a line but was still feeling good from one 2-3 hours prior. I should note it seems to be holding me much longer, I took a one day break on H last week after almost 3 weeks on only Subs and the morning after using I had an afterglow, one stronger than I can remember having in a long while.

Anyway, about 10-15 after the line I got really spaced out and basically an anxiety attack. I know I have had them like this is in the past, and I felt better after an hour or so. I am somewhat prone to anxiety, usually alcohol hangovers and marijuana set them off, but now it seems they happen from high doses of opioids. Anyone else have this issue?

Could you be a little bit more specific about your anxiety. Is it a full blown panic attack where you feel like you're going to have a heart attack and start freaking out? Or is it more the mental form of anxiety? Either way, if you notice a direct correlation between anxiety and opiates, maybe it might be time to deal with the opiate problem. I know for me, if I had panic attacks from opiates it would kinda defeat the purpose of taking the opiate to begin with.

Do you get anxiety attacks from H and Subs or just H?

Its mental anxiety, stems from my hypochondriac tendencies. It is a rare occurrence and I am pretty sure its just a result of doing more than is comfortable. You know some people do too much and get nauseous. Well I never get nauseous from opiates, but too much gives me anxiety. Believe me I know I have a problem with opiates, like I wrote I am on suboxone, but I cheat and use H here and there.

I have anxiety issues as it is. I was just wondering if anyone else has it exacerbated when they use a higher dose of opiates than they usually do. Believe me I love opiates and I would do them all the time if it was an option, well I basically do but Suboxone isn't ideal. Thing is my ideal high is not nodding out. I like opiates because they give me energy, motivation and euphoria.

^ IDK, I've been addicted to oxy/H for over 2 years so its not exactly uncharted territory. Though I don't get high with the intent to nod out, it happens. One factor is until about 6 weeks ago I almost always had a supply of benzos, so I'd just pop one of them and that was that. I used either diaz or clonaz every 2-3 days, irregardless of anxiety levels, but sometimes took longer breaks to avoid any serious dependence. I think I am used to having those, just their mere presence is like a security blanket. Today I was actually clawing through random draws in hope of finding a straggler benzo lying around.

Seems to me like you just arent used to nodding, and when you get ready to you fight it with panic until it calms you down....

This seems most plausible. I have awful anxiety and I'm prescribed Ativan 2mg twice a day. But I found opiates to combat anxiety the best, but the withdrawal has some anxiety issues.

Drugs use is a stressful thing. Opiate addiction is a stressful thing. Do you think that you're getting anxious because you start to think about opiates, and opiate addiction, etc. when you use opiates? Does that make sense?

That type of logic mostly happens in withdrawal and or being broke...

While it is in your brain, you are most likely saying "fuck that"....
