Hey guys. So I went on a 2 day Vyvanse binge a month ago..if you even call this a binge. I took 90 mg the first day and 60 mg the second. I ate fine and didn't do too much. Well my anxiety has been crazy for the last month. Constant lump in the back of the throat...just honestly a constant feeling on anxiety that nothing will cure. I've tried visitaril, herbals meds, and anti anxiety meds like Remeron. I'm a little scared right now that this feeling of constant anxiety will never go away. It's been a month. Anyone ever have this happen to them..and how long did it take you to feel better?

I don't have too much experience with anxiety but I would say that I would completely avoid stimulants if you have trouble with anxiety. Avoid any substance that would give you an adrenal response and release adrenaline (caffeine, nicotine, vyvanse, etc). If it's unbearable I would try a benzodiazepine like xanax or valium in the mean time but I would seek therapy and see what might be bothering you in your life that is circumstantial rather than just physiological anxiety

Did you get tested for hyperthyroidism ? A specialized medic may not help you, but at least has the right devices to diagnose whats going on. ;)

Has anything else in your life changed? Have you tried to understand what events/thoughts are specifically triggering your anxiety? I have suffered from debilitating anxiety for years and found mindfulness to be really helpful with respect to anxiety. If your anxiety continues you may want to look into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), it works wonders for anxiety disorders.

When was the last time you took Vyvanse? Also, when was the last time you to Remeron and also Visteril? All three of those can contribute to anxiety, especially if you're still taking them. Not everybody reacts the same to medications, while something may work well for many people there will always be outliers who have the opposite response. I am that way with Visteril - it literally gets me more spun up than coke lol.

I would be very hesitant about using benzos as they may immediately help acute anxiety, they are not meant for long term use and don't facilitate learning how to deal with anxiety. They can ultimately make anxiety worse, and have several other negative effects aside from the huge addictive potential. I would recommend a script for Indural (propranolol) before anything from the benzodiazapine class. Indural works very well to stop the adrenaline reaction and it is not addictive.
