I close my eyes, I beg and plead
My fingers tingle, my heart starts to speed
My hands shake with the pulse rate increase
I clench my fists and hope for release

I open my eyes, they dart around
The beat of my heart is the only sound
I blink hard, a tear drops to the floor
It hurts to do this, I've been here before

My head goes fuzzy, my body goes numb
It wins again, I am overcome
Curled into a ball, I cry and I moan
Why does it scare me to be alone?
