I was consuming meth once a week for nearly 8 months. Slowly I started to stop and then I went clean with the new habit of going to the gym and eating well; overall I was getting back life with motivation. It caused a lot of problems for me, and now I can't stand the thought and mention about it. Yet at the same time, i know how good it feels; which is not even worth it. When I hear conversations about it, I get anxiety, but I don't even want it to get high. I get scared and afraid I'll give in and destroy my progress.
Today I stumbled, and while thinking about it and knowing I was gonna have some, I started vomiting, shaking and couldn't breathe properly; until I got it. Is this normal or is common? How long will this last? I don't even crave it.

Hey mind and welcome to BLuelight=D the throwing up thing is because after we are addicted we get the dopamine early. This is very common for people who are addicted. Many people who are meth or coke addicts will throw up on the way over to score or once they have the drug and are preparing to use it. This is because we get a large dopamine rush before we use as well after we have used for long enough. Here is a good video that explains whats going on. Also if you have evr heard of the "ritual" that many addicts do when they use their drugs, the reason people do this is that the brain has recognized this as the pattern that leads to the reward of dopamine. So people get high by doing the ritual. It is better explained in these videos. This is a segment from radio lab which appears on NPR. I have listened to many of thier shows and they are really reliable and often feature some really premier scientists.

As far as anxiety when the use of meth of talked about or mentioned. Anxiety is an emotion. It signifies a problem or issue that needs to be addressed. In this case it could represent the inner struggle between the addicted part of your brain and the conscious, but more likely it is a sign that you have been triggered as the limbic system and VTA use emotion to manipulate us into doing what they desire. In this case it would be that is recognized that there is an opportunity to use. So when there is an opportunity to achieve any of the goals it thinks are important it will increase you alertness and can use any number of emotions to try and drive us to use.

It can be really powerful to realize that when we crave the "memories" of pleasurable use it sends us during the crave are not accurate, the are a type of fantasy and it rarely if ever feels the way it says it will. ;)

Dopamine-mediated nausea is probably the most common form of nausea
