Hi, I have been a long time viewer of this forum and get most of my information from this website. Anyways, I do it more often then I should, but I tend to run out of my morphine and oxy at least a week early every month. I found that bacoflen, kratom, and gabapentin helped. I started to take twice my dose of gabapentin, and the next thing I know im having anxiety attacks that landed me in the hospital twice. everytime I take even a little bit of the gabapentin it starts my heart racing. I got put on blood pressure and a low dose anti anxiety for time being. Im just wandering if this is a sign of me doing this to my body so many times because Even when I do take my what I should I find random times my heart starts pounding. Does this sound almost like a nervous breakdown on my system? or could this be related to the Gabapentin? Thanks

Does this happen if you take the gaba while still on opiates?
Sad thing is im not sure anymore. I weened off of it but yes even a small dose does it. but now im weening off of klonopin that ive been on for two months. it seems my heart has calmed down and doesnt beat out of my chest but ive got brain fog now. im not sure if its stress im putting on my self. but ya for some reason almost every time I would take it my hands feet and chest would get cold and have a full blown panic attack, but I was using it for opoiod wds also

If you don't mind sharing the blood pressure medication.

Sounds to me that your having a paridoxical reaction to the gabapentin and its causing the anxiety symtoms, including cold hands and feet and panic attacks. I would taper if needed and stop taking it. You may explore with your dr., trying lyrica in place of the gabapentin.

A time lock safe may be a way for you to try and make your meds last.
