Does anyone know of a good anti anxiety ''idea'' to help ward the effects of amphetamine induced social anxiety?

I need to ask my doc about this but i'd like some ideas before i do.

Basically I don't want anything thats going to counter act the ''clear headed'' feeling of adderall. I'm not a fan of any kind of sedatives/downers etc.

My doctor has also been writing me scripts for citalopram but i haven't been filling them after i read that it was a anti-depressant. (This particular doctor has a bad rep for loading you up with needless scripts) but i was wondering if maybe that would counter act what the anxiety?

Thanks in advance

As you noted, Citalopram is a SSRI and takes several weeks to work.

In my experience with amphetamine and methamphetamine, taking into consideration that I enjoy that clear headed feeling from them as well however I suffer from Panic Disorder, I always felt that Xanax works best. Klonopin and Ativan should work as well, I just find Xanax kicks in harder (example being that near the end of a meth binge I took 2mg of Xanax and was able to get some sleep whereas before when I wouldn't take anything and just crash I'd still be up for several hours).

a long lasting benzo like kpins or ativan

I second and third the notion. Klonopin is probably the better choice since its longer-lasting than Ativan, but they're both great benzos for your purposes. I know of many people (with many different doctors) who are scripted amphetamines and benzos to counter-act the anxiety the amphetamines cause.

Another option is to see if you can acquire some hydroxyzine (Atarax), which is an old school anti-histamine with anti-anxiety properties. I've used it for anxiety and combined it with Dexedrine and it got rid of the anxiety and jitters.

I know you said you don't like downers/sedatives, but those are really the only things your doctor is going to go to....especially considering he's liberal with that ol' script pad ;)

k-pins and ativan are quite strong, and for some sedating...

i would go for Oxazepam ("Seresta" here also known as "Serax, Serenid, Serepax, Sobril, Oxascand, Alopam, Oxabenz, Oxapax") 20mg of that should help or Prazepam "Lysanxia, Centrax" 10-20mg (not AT ALL sedating, and less addictive than k-pins or ativan)... you can redose if its a long lasting amphetamine...

OR theres allways "Atarax" (hydroxyzine) an anxiolytic anti-histamine, very little if any sedation.... 100mg should help a bit no K-D out... it's safer addiction wise than benzos??
