Probably not technically the right forum, but all the psyches in the world dont have a solid answer for this shit so its pretty advanced.
Every antidipressant I take, (have tried all the groups & random ones). Work nicely for 2 weeks, like on 85mg of mdma & some amphetamine to boot. But then after the two weeks of this I become more scattered then before. Has anyone heard of this?
They seem to be just like normal drugs with comedown.

Do you reckon I should try adding lithium or a dopamine agonist or a trycyclic to an SSR/NI. To keep em running.

Or do you reckon I should just screw the antidepressants & try & keep it real?

Well when antidepressants are working, you shouldn't feel like you're on 85mg of MDMA. I wonder whether your dose is too high, some people report somewhat plesant feelings after taking double or triple their normal dose.

But maybe try a dopaminergic antidepressant, but don't mix them all together..

Ok Thanks.
Yeah they take effect after 4 weeks then only work for 2. I have major depression and dysthymia and a little bit of everything else.
And I always titrate to the maximum dose ASAP.

Can to high a dose to soon give you bad effects ya reckon?

I don't know, but I think, by going high quickly, you're giving yourself stimulant effects (which you shouldn't get!), and then you feel like you're missing out when they go away... antidepressants aren't supposed to make you feel great; they're supposed to make you not want to kill yourself...

The best alternative antidepressant IMHO is Aniracetam, virtually no side effects, your brain works very good (usually a problem when depressed),no sexual side effects and you are connected to your feelings (I hate the SSRI thymoanestesizers),altough this can be a bit hard initially. But I truly believe Aniracetam does repair things on a more deep level than the other crap and surely have to be taken for some time as well (2 months) but works faster after first dose.Beyond the AMPA/Cholinergic stuff,Aniracetam has slight Dopamin and Serotonin uptake inhibitor effects.I've read papers who give Piracetam (and other racetams) with very good results as augmentation to traditional antidepressants.

Once weekly 100-150mg Tramadol works also wonders.

well, I'm on Citalopram and didn't notice it help me at first, then 2 months passed and it took full effect! Anti-depressants are dam strange things. I'd say give it more time, because when I first started taking them, I suffered nasty side-effects ie: exessive yawning, mentally drained, tingles in feet and hands, vision problems (blurred?) and a slight increase in anxiety, that seemd to subside significantly.

I take it you're not taking aniracetam at the moment then?

:)

Thanks again, I just recieved some Pircatam in the mail. Will give that a try soon.
But on say Effexor or Nardil when its working for that two weeks I can approach anyone like a random 10 year old kid and just blabber shit to em for ages and its interesting, & I have good Ideas to improve my life.
But when they stop working everything is just as fun as lying in bed staring at the wall.
Even computer games, movies & friends. They all just piss me off.

Hell yeah Antidepressants are strange unpredictable drugs.

antidepressants are ment to make you 'normal' not high!

if you want to get high, take recreational drugs like 'normal' people. (sarcasm alert for the mentally impaired)

I remember when I was first put on 25 mg of strattera and 20 mg of fluoxetine, when they both kicked in, I felt a little high for about two months. It was great...but then it evened off. I'm still ok, just not feeling quite as great. I know that fluoxetine potentiates strattera by doing something to inhibit its metabolism, but I always wondered why I had such different initial effects.
