Anti-Cholinergics

Many people report HPPD like effects after anticholinergics... effects seem to be semi-permanent. There's an OK thread on it in drug basics (search for HPPD and diphenhydramine, you should find it).

Many people report long-lasting memory problems from anticholinergic abuse.

On a published basis, about nothing, I suspect. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Neurotoxicity - as BilZ0r has said

Psychological damage - a huge capacity for making your life unpleasant due to after effects where you think you might still be under the influence. This effect happened to a friend 10 years after he'd eaten far too much datura while in Crete (was triggered by salvia and lasted for a few days)

Searched PubMed, came up with nothing but how anti-cholinergics help preserve the bone structure of children with asthma :P

These drugs, though, are poisonous and can be toxic. People have died from taking overdoses of drugs such as Datura (though some of these deaths could be attributed to things they did whilst in the delirium....). But that's what those drugs, at "recreational levels," induce, IMO: delirium. So how good can they be for you?

Yes too much of everything, is bad

Wise words, but I believe the thresh hold concerning what is 'too much' is much lower with drugs like these than with most. No science to back it up though, so take it for what it's worth:\

That study really isn't that surprising. Anticholinergics impair memory when you're on them.

^ Exactly. "Patients showed a statistically significant decrease (5--10%) in word list acquisition while on CogentinTM"

Yep, big doses of diphenhydramine definitely inhibit my ability to recall words... as in, the words are in my head but don't make it out of my mouth. Very strange feeling, and at times very hard to communicate no matter how hard one tries. No more of that stuff for me...

True

I use very small amounts of brugmansia flowers with cannabis and Blue Lotus, i find this blend very amusing occasionaly

But i only use very small amounts, but even them i get a strong effect with dilated puppils, visuals, stoned feeling etc.

But very small amounts frequently, havent experienced any side effects

But im very carefull with dose

Atropine in small amounts works stimulating, higher doses makes you sleepy

besides it works against nerve-gas
