I was taking 5-HTP a week or so ago then the doctor prescribed me Tramadol. I never told him I was on 5-HTP as it never crossed my mind, but when I got home I saw that Tramadol acts as a mild SSRI and that combing it with 5-HTP can cause Serotonin Syndrome. I stopped taking 5-HTP and started on the Tramadol.

I'm now out of Tramadol and since it gave me Tachycardia I won't be re-scripting it. I was wondering how long I should wait until I start taking my 5-HTP again?

The last time I took it was yesterday at around 6pm, and it's now the next day at 8:16pm where I live, so it's been around 26 or so hours since I took my last Tramadol dose.

How long should I wait until I start taking my 5-HTP again?

Are you sure? I don't want to take the 5-HTP then get Serotonin Syndrome =X
I take it before I go to bed, and I have insomnia so I usually go to sleep at 4-5am, which is 7.5 hours from now, equaling up to 33.5 hours since my last Tramadol dose.

It really leaves your body that fast? Do you have previous experience with Tramadol or do you just already know how long it takes to leave your system?

Look it up. It's half life is 7-8 hours. So if you want to know how long the drug last in your system, multiply the half-life X2. So it's 14-16 hours in your system.
