Alright, I've noticed from various tests that sometimes the Marquis turns purple and other times it turns black. The sheet that comes with the reagent states that either reaction indicates an MDxx in the pill. Does anyone have a theory about what would cause these two different reactions for the same chemical? My best guess is maybe the pill takes a more purple color when it's only reacting to an MDxx substance, whereas maybe it turns black when there is a second chemical present such as meth. Meth causes a yellowish orange reaction. If there is speed in the pill and one doesn't catch the yellow streaks would it just turn the what would be purple Marquis to black? Any thoughts?

The only thing I can give you is my experience. I've seen clean ecstasy turn many shades of purple/dark blue/black...why the difference in color reactions, I don't know. I have found that Marquis is the most sensitive to amp, and even if there is a 'little bit' in the pill it will show up as very tiny orange swirls or rings in the reagent. So, I don't think it wouldn't pick up amp content and turn it to black, since the only thing that will turn Marquis black in this instance is an ecstasy-like substance.
