another death from an "illegal drug"

Is that the 16 year old girl in Manchester? I've stopped clicking on DM links. If so it's all "suspected illegal drug" and very vague wording.. wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be something legal. Although the mention of breathing difficulties does point to something opiatey. (Or asthma.)

Any legal opiates bought from a properly-regulated output would surely come with a warning like "Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication if you suffer from asthma or COPD". Maybe even have two pills in the pack, one at something like 1% of the normal strength which you can take first to check for any adverse effects (which will be correspondingly easier to deal with).

If indeed she has been unlucky enough to take an illegal substance that triggered a fatal asthma attack, the illegality of the substance was surely a contributory factor in her death.

Find it a little odd that someone has left a lucozade bottle alongside her flowers :/

At a wild guess, perhaps she just really liked Lucozade.
In a hypothetical situation in which I could experience emotion after I die, I'd feel flattered if someone left me some original-style orange Lucozade. It would mean someone really paid attention!
I'm half making light of a terrible situation, but I'm also quite serious.

Poor lass :( Another product of the lack of proper awareness and information, or perhaps an OD... If death wasn't enough of a kick in the teeth, to be talked about in a 'nothing article' in the DM adds insult to injury. Again, I'm quite serious.

I guess it might be a little memento type thing. Still not to distract from the main story, its a great shame that the girl has lost her life. More so that the DM is writing articles of such standards but hey what more do we expect of them.
