Maybe we are looking at a problem with ADD.
He wants me to start with paxil for two weeks to try to get my anxity down...because ADD treatment with high stress would be "devestating"....
So, I WAS NOT trying for this, but seing as how it just fell into my lap, where do I go from here?
Just so you know, he has no problem with meds, he sees how I am.
With the paxil he gave me 60 xanax a month for three months....so he sees a problem.
We talked about ADD meds, but he wants to ge me less freaked out first....
I love my MD, so I don't want to fuck him over.
Jeez, you don't think he might be on the right track?
I swear on all that is good in my life I would take all meds as prescribed if I thought they would make me stable !
BUT, until then....
 
I dont understand. What's your question? Do you not wanna take the Paxil? I wouldnt. That stuff has more side effects than any other med I've been on. Bye Bye sex drive. And contrary to what doctor's willtekkyou it IS physically addictive. I dont know why the medical community denies this. I've seen Paxil withdrawl. It's not pretty.
Dont worry about fuckin your doctor over. You have to think about yourself. He;s workin for you and if what he's doin isnt right for you, you need to talk to him about it. If he's a good doctor he'll want you to speak up and tell him what works for you and what doesnt. That's not fuckin him over in anyway.
 
Play your fucking cards right on this one. Fill the xanax and take that. Throw the paxil script in the trash, its horrible and you wont be able to tolerate the side effects more than a few weeks. Go back to the doc and tell him the xanax and paxil (he doesnt know you are not taking it) have worked wonders on your anxiety. Now what you really want to do is get help for your ADD. You could end up with a script for benzos and stims. You have a cool doctor.
 
Well first of all, why is he trying to give you a anti-depressent and anti-anxiety for your ADD? why dont you get an Amphetamine. Buuuuut to answer your question, I wouldn't take the paxil, I got prescribed paxil for depression when I was quitting a bad painkiller addiction. I took paxil for maybe 1 week then threw it away because I couldn't stand the med. For the other med Xanax, those can be fun sometimes, but I still dont understand why he gave you those, they are just gonna put you down... make you want to sleep. You need to be getting medication that does the opposite of this if you have ADD

Yes I do agree as well that anti-depressents have solved many peoples lives, but they are not for everyone. They are not for me, which is why I threw them out, if you are on them and want to get off, I highly advise NOT to just stop.. I stopped because it was only a week before I started taking them.
 
Okay, first of all...
he gave me the xanax because the panic and anxiety are at a real breaking point, so it is a do or die (or check into the ward and this is not a good time of year to do that)
The paxil is something else I guess.
He said that it is used with other medicay=tion to treat ADD... that and the bad anxiety has happened before and he seems to think this will help stablize me.
I said yes because if it helps I will gladly become dependent on it. Things have been that bad.
As for side effects, I am only on day three, but have felt nothing except a dull headache and I don't even know if that is related. I have the controlled release if that helps any.
I go back in less then two weeks, so we will see how it is going then.
He is a cool doctor, but not a script writing fool.
I think he really thinks I am totally nuts. He could be right.

until I just got on here again tonight....I forgot I put it here.

This breaks down into two things now! Help for your problem and how many drugs you can now take legitimately. The former being alot more fun
first you must cure your problem! you have to decide whether you want to live your life on this paxil!???
First try the Xanax and see how good that works for your anxiety! First try taking them (about .50mg) around the clock for a couple days. then try taking them on the third, fourth, or even a week later only when you feel anxiety setting in! The reason I advise taking them for a few days straight through is: It seems to me you may be new to benzos or maybe even a low to moderate user, so you have to break your cherry and see how these drugs will affect you!
You will probably see relief through these drugs. If you do then you are ready for the ultimate hobby of collecting meds! If not record the side effects and report them to your doctor as soon as possible to your doc!
*Remember you still have refills on the xanax , so don't let them go to waste even if they don't work for your anxiety they can still be quite fun, when you are feeling better
Tell him the Paxil is working fine. Just keep getting it filled when you are supposed to and stock piling them. (don't throw them out, that is just a waste! Who knows, someone may come up with a synth where the first precursor is Paxil! This may be just my OCD, but you never know)
You may find you can't fuction on Xanax constantly or you don't find enjoyment when you are taking them recreationaly. You may want to switch. Tell him that the pills are working but after some passing time you get these side effects. 1st Key here! try and hold off on this till all your refills are filled even if you don't take them daily, get them refilled as you are. Stock Pile these!
Now shoot for another benzo! Klonopin seems to be the cure all from my Family practitioner. plus I find it the best for my anxiety (at around .5 - 1.0mgs and also I find it quite enjoyable at recreational doses of 2-3mgs) [Plus you can take these sublingually (suck on em)]'
That should keep you busy for the next month or so! Tell us how the progress is going

1)No anxiety
2)More Drugs -
ADD medication-(amphetamines even methamphetamines if you play your cards right) Sleeping pills-(ambien, sonata)-you will also find that a good nights sleep will deffinately help your stress)
Benzos- (ativan,xanax,klonopin) you might not like them now but you will learn to love them
there is so much more, but I'll leave it at that
 
I have been on xanax before.
I stopped taking them because I really felt like I was okay.
In my favor, my doctor knows I stopped so he doesn't think I am a seeker.
As far as treatment for the ADD, I won't be getting my hopes up for anything as it was not ever in my plans to try for that.
If it lands there...
I just tell him if he thinks I should try something, I will give it a go.
The paxil I don't know. I felt really crappy today, but I could have just had a crappy feeling day. I guess you can't always blame the meds.
I hate SSRI's, so I think I am looking for a reason not to take them.
