It all depends on your location. Different countries run their medical programs differently. In North America you need a degree before applying whereas in many european countries its direct entry out of high school (but they tack on a couple years to the program)

Fuck off to the Caribbean and become an internist without having to show up to class or do rounds or any of that boring shite.

^ I'm not going to dignify that with a response, other than to note that Caribbean schools are geared toward people who aim to practice in the American system, not the British. If you want to practice medicine in Britain, you need to attend a school that trains people to work in the British health care system. Many Commonwealth countries probably model their healthcare systems largely on Britain's, and are approved by the British Ministry of Health for educating people to work in their system. But check first. I'd hate to see you spend so much time and money, and then not be approved for licensure because your school isn't approved.

I'm an American medical student, so that's about as much useful information as I've got for you I'm afraid. But good luck, and be sure to let us know how things turn out!
