Growing marijuana is actually really easy. The key is to not be a cheap ass, and construct a proper setup, and buy the proper equipment. if you try growing it in your closet with an incandescent bulb, it'll end up being a waste of time. But if you buy an HID lamp, build an enclosed box (or room) with ventilation, and buy appropriate fertilizers, you'll have a hard time NOT yielding something.
A yield that my pet army ant had last time was about 3 ounces or so with 2 plants... he's expecting more this time.
And male plants you need to remove as soon as you know they're male for sure. They don't produce seeds, but they will make the females produce seeds which will give you seeded buds. The males aren't smokeable, but you can cut the whole plant up, dry it out, and make hash oil or cook with it. Don't keep growing the males, just cut them up.
And the only advantage to hydroponic growing is that it tends to be more space-efficient and automated. However the setups cost a load of cash and generally the taste and smell is a little less powerful than it would be in soil. However, it's a bit easier. But I'd go for soil... usually hydro is used for larger operations because of its automation.
female plants produce buds and male plants dont. Male plants usually mature faster under 12/12 light cycle and you know they are male cause little ball/seeds start growing out of it
You know, in the past, I've always found this to be true and I started relying on it. However, this current time, my army ant's two females were revealed to be the taller, more rapidly-growing and spread out plants, and the two males were the smaller, more demure ones. Weird. Plus, one of my plants started growing right away with 3 branches growing from each internode instead of 2! And it's one of the females. isn't that weird? I should take a picture sometime...
anywayz i think i cropped it abit to early
Everyone does this! You really need to have patience with flowering... it can take up to 3 full months, or 2 at the VERY LEAST. They'll swell up real big before you should harvest. This is probably one of the trickier parts of growing, actually... deciding when to harvest.
