Ever heard that song called No Sleep by Voltswagon? i hope so
Here i am after 24+ hours of no sleep. insomnia can be a nightmare. but i like it. it allows me to babble incoherently on threads such as this without my usual reservedness towards posting utter nonsense on threads such as this. and it gives me a license to use bad grammar and completely unstructured paragraphs which head nowhere. caffeine is a painkiller not a remedy.
you smile at people before you recognise them. facial recognition skills are lagging by about 10 seconds. however certain aspects of sleep deprivation are attractive. you can tune into your own imaginary radio station where they never play any music. they just play cut scenes from your favourite memories, complete with full colour, animation and missing details. as soon as you tune out you realise someone was just talking to you from a distance of approximately 30 cm. they may have even been saying something important, but the value of importance redefines itself now. better yet, they're looking at you; wide eyed and waiting for a response to the question they just asked. time passes before you decide to respond "Could you please repeat that? i'm not entirely here.. What you're talking to now is my screen-saver mode."
and then of course, you've forgotten the lovely memory you were just thinking about.
unfazed by the apparent awkwardness of the situation, you walk off before they've finished repeating what you've just asked them to. and you fan your face with your flat palm as you leave.
the world becomes grey, dark and muffled. i would feel lonely if it wasn't for the cacophony of neural jargon, cement mixing in my mind. There's someone in my head and it's not me. this post took me 25 minutes to write in a uni computer lab. its stuffy in here. i think i need a drink of water
