An honest opinion on LSD, please share

I'm interested in the substance LSD. I finally got my hands on it, I've read tons of information about it but there are still quite a few things that bother me.

Last year, I took a lot of ecstasy which resulted in a depressive mindset of mine. This happened because I was unaware of the fact how it can cause damage to the neuro-receptors. So, my question is: Does LSD harm the brain and its receptors? I know that there isn't much research on this topic, so please go from your experience. What I am looking for is a spiritual experience, not too overwhelming though because I work and will start university soon, and not the usual high. If you have something to share, please do!

You may be better off posting in the psychedelic drugs forum. I'm sure you'll get a lot more answers there. Unfortunately, I don't have much to offer in term of experience, I've only tried LSD once.
