This article (posted by another bl'er) has confirmed misgivings ive had for mdma. Though there are no human test subjects its still compelling and the projected risks are too severe to play jeopardy with. Ive heard that Mescaline and aMT are the closest alternatives to mdma ( excluding the 2cx family and a few rare phenethylamines) and have similar mechanisms of action partic. in relation to 5ht/DA.
My first concern however would be for the lengthy duration - any neurotoxicity would be sustained in this case. Second do we have a conclusive metabolite profile? Lastly has their pharmacology been established and cytotoxicity excitotoxicity and oxidative stress etc been ruled out?Very few studies have been conducted on either so this is all academic speculation at best, guesswork at worst
