Amphetamines few hours prior to taking MDMA to prevent toxicity?

Am a bit out of my league here, but thought I would ask.

I remember reading that part of MDMA toxicity may come from the fact that dopamine can be picked up by SERT as the amount of available serotonin is reduced, and dopamine is toxic to serotonin neurons.

If one were to take a medicinal dose of dextroamphetamine, ie: 20mg, 2-3 hours prior to taking MDMA, once that person runs out of available serotonin, the amount of available dopamine would also be reduced, thus lowering the risk of dopamine being picked up by SERT and damaging serotonin neurons.

How wrong am i? <3
 
the logic is all wrong

worst idea ever- if you have ever taken amphetamines and mdma together you will know what i'm talking about. also when i was hooked on speed and then would take mdma (in other words speed in the morning, then mdma in the evening) the comedowns were so brutal i cant even describe it. it was a big mistake. you will feel burned out like nothing else.

bear in mind i took mdma two days ago and i feel fine today. just avoid amphetamines if you can do without them. prescrition speed is something i just think is VERY overprescribed in places like america and australia. i guess if i could get speed on prescription i would, but would it really benefit me? hmm somehow i doubt it.

speed on prescription seems to me to be one of the most insidious forms of government sanctioned drug dealing. hey everybody lets pump the population with drugs that temporarily enhance productivity, and then say everyone who is less productive is suffering from a disorder rather than just not wanting to work like a plough horse...

people that dont want to pay attention are just very low in conscientiousness. just because i dont give a shit about doing what suits others doesn't mean i need speed to alter my personality. i just dont care about getting boring stuff done, some other fool will do it for me or it just wont get done and then so what? ussually i can manipulate my way around my laziness and its worked out so far.

OP that is an interesting idea but the problem is that the human brain stores much more DA than 5HT, preloading with 20mg of amphetamine would not exhaust stores of DA in the same way that MDMA can temporarily exhaust stores of 5HT. That is why you can binge on MA for weeks, while MDMA looses its serotonergic/empathogenic quality after a couple redoses. Additional the amphetamine would exacerbate other elements of MDMA's toxicity such as hyperthermia induced neurotoxicity. Lastly taking ampehtamine would do nothing to prevent the formation of pro-oxidant MDMA metabolites.

Maybe an alternative route would be to preload with MPP+ and use the subsequent Parkinsonism as a way to prevent DA uptake by serotonergic neurons.;)
 
TERRIBLE idea I took 65mg? due to school (3 extra pills that my normal dose) of Dexedrine to focus. Then later that night I got sucked into taking Molly. Worse hangover ever!:\

So true.. I remember taking a whole bunch of speed during Defqon 1 2008 (big rave) I took the speed all day and about 200 mg's of mdma in the eve.. I stopped taking speed after about 24 hours finishing off a full gram of pasty amphetamine (sulphate?)

This combo had me all over the place for two weeks, sweating, insomnia, anxiety, lethargy... Not to mention the depression that lasted a lot longer.
 
It certainly wont reduce neurotoxicity, and you'll probably have a shitty roll.

I was on adderall from 8am till 6pm (about 30mg total) and then took .1g of molly and snorted another .13g (dont snort it, if your sinuses are even a little dry, it will burn like fire ants all down your throat). I've rolled 3 times before on good beans (before I started taking adderall), I know what a good roll feels like. I barely felt the molly at all. The girl I was with (first time) rolled face(.2g) and my two friends who have taken E upwards of 30(.2g) and 100(.25g) times respectively were rolling almost as hard as her. None of us had a hangover.

I'm guessing being on adderall for the past couple weeks before rolling depleted too many of my neurotransmitors. Both amph and mdma work off similar pathways, right? I'm guessing if you only took it 2-3 hours before, you wouldn't feel a strong come up from the E, but if you dont have a heart attack you would roll hard as fuck and be up for a long time.
 
^^ I wouldn't daresay the combo itself sucks.. I actually think it is pretty damn awesome. It's twice the fun in a party setting but the hangover is x^10..

Er...since when did people take stimulants to 'come down' from things? :P Regardless, in theory, this should exacerbate mdma-mediated neurotoxicity even moreso than taking a stimulant beforehand, as it would more closely align release of DA and depletion of 5ht.

when people who hated coming down from molly wanted to stay up longer and either eat more/or smoke weed. some things said on here you guys think are so unreal. if you haven't heard anything about it, it doesn't mean it's not there. i ate an addy to come down from oxy, omgz. i ate an addy to deal with benzo WDs, OMFGZ.

if you eat addy before mdma kiss your roll goodbye, which is why i said eat it after
