Amount of pill required for testing

Heya... I'm an absolute newbie, been doing all my research etc, and I've also been looking at the cost analysis for a bit of a experimentation. On reading the instructions on the EZ-Test site (haven't bought a tester yet, but will before dropping, of course :P) it says that you only need to take a scraping of your pill to test. What I was wondering is what kind of amount of pill is required for a test (probably both a standard test, and one to detect PMA)? Would one pill do for testing and taking? Or if I bought 2 pills, would it be ok to take one scraping from each for the two tests, and then take the pills? Or do I basically need a separate tester pill... So yeah, respsonses would be appreciated, I realise this is probably a bit of a no-brainer for anyone with experience, but experience is what I lack :P Thankya...

only the smallest amount needs to be scraped off for a test... say about the size of a match head at the most (that would probally be too much)

You will need just the one pill which can then be consumed without any lessoning of the effects. One pill could do hundreds on tests in theory.
 
Hi, thanks for the responses... I was just doing some more reading on EZ-test, and on the test for a primary amine (PMA, MDA etc) it says to scrape "A FAIR BIT" of the pill for testing... is this still a negligibly small amount?

I guess it is good someone asks ;-) because Robadope DOES require a fair bit.
Robadope works a bit different, you need more substance than you would need with Marquis or Simon's. I do not know the _exact_ reason but especially pills with low doses of a primary amine, it may be hard to detect the reaction (Superman example, only 5mg).

As you can see in the picture, only a tiny little bit goes red (because of the low dose).
You won't need a quarter but you should use something like 1/8 to be sure not to miss the reaction (if any).

Ahh, thanks, I thought that difference in wording warranted a question. So if I have two pills, then 1/16 of each would probably do enough... leaving enough pill for a good drop... good stuff

16th I think is still pushing it over the 'too much' barrier. Do this - get a key and scrape against the pill a couple of times so you get a tiny amount of the plate. Thats all!
 
Soma: I think you're right for the standard test (Marquis reagent), but for the PMA/primary amine test, I think more pill is required as aj said... cos if there's only a low dosage of PMA in the pill then a small amount might not be enough to create a reaction.. I think :P hehe... living in Australia I should probably be pretty wary of PMA too... anyway, thanks for the replies

Correct, Robadope requires more substance.

Not just Australia, it is all over Europe at the moment.
