I was thinking about taking amitriptyline to put me to sleep during an amphetamine comedown, does anyone foresee any adverse effects from the combination? I'm also complete naive to amitriptyline, so what would be a good dose for the described use?

25mg or so should do if memory serves correctly. for me personally TCA's were good for sleep generally, but completely useless if i'd ingested any uppers. i was still unable to sleep, whilr feeling unpleasantly tired. try at your own risk.
also, in regards to interactions, i don't think there is anything to worry about. i could be wrong about this though. i'm fairly drunk, and it's been a long time since i actually read up on the subject.

not to sound snobby, but combining the two (uppers and downers) can stop your heart. not saying it will, or that swim hasn't done it before, but be careful. it should bring you down.

No it's actually how hospitals prevent people from ODing on uppers, they give them downers.
