Misc amitriptyline effect's

Hello,
So i have a question to anyone who has been prescribed amitriptyline. My partner has been put on 50mg a day due to depression. I have noticed she has turned into for lack of better wording....A zombie, She hardly has anything to say anymore and the only thing she wants to do is sleep all the time. She has only been takeing them for about 2 week's, what i want to know is...Is she always gonna be like this until she stops taking them or is this something that will go away with time?

Yeah, years ago I was Rx'ed that drug but only at bedtime and for the record, it really works. I'd be dead to the world in less than 20 minutes. Other than that, I don't remember much else about the drug. Mind you, this was over 30 years ago.
