Misc Amitriptyline and night sweats

Right to keep it brief iv been on and off amitriptyline from about the age of 16 I'm now 25 and I'm going back into it. I'm titrating up slowly to what will be 175-200 mg. I'm currently on 75mg and I'm getting the night sweats BIG TIME and I just can't remember how long they take to go.
If anyone has any info that'd b cool.

Oh I'm on it for major depressive disorder and also severe insomnia and before anyone suggests, NO BENZOS as I'm a recovering addict.

^Apparently, sweating is a common side-effect of that drug. It will probably get worse as you go up in dose, and get better once you eventually adjust to it.

A lot of meds come with annoying side-effects, but if the benefits outweigh the negatives, maybe it's worth dealing with...

I'd tell your doctor about it, and if it becomes unbearable, maybe they'll switch you to something else.

Yeh. Iv done it before about three times iv just always been on benzos at the time so can't remember. I have feeling they don't get any worse in increase in dose but they level out and stop after a while after on max dose. I just can't remember how long that "while after taking top dose" is lol
Oh and also iv been on all the available prescription anti depressants in my time and these are the ones that are best :s what can u do
