I've been meaning to make a thread about this as it's one thing that is actually really helpful. No matter if you've had issus with stimulants, opiates, or benzos, or a need for any of those, they can help in different ways. I'll just sum up a few of my favourites so far.

L-ornithine/L-arginine combo. This is a wonderful supplement for anyone who can use sedatives for some reason. On an empty stomach it binds somewhat to the gaba-receptors, lowers adrenaline production, and raises level of nitrous oxide in the blood. Though it's short-acting and it's best to take little more often.

Phenylalanine is very valuable for anyone who's had problems with opiates and help to upgrade endorphin production. There's D-Phenylalanine that's more pain-killing, L-Phenylalanine that's more stimulating, or DLPA which is a combination.

It's quite a strong stimulant and gives a sort of amphetamine-like buzz and I don't like too much of it for that reason. But it has a great mood-stabilising effect and someone said the playing out of traumatic episodes in their head with accompanying emotions immediately stopped when they took 3 capsules of Phenylalanine. The version of DLPA with added vitamins can give a sort of 30 minute euphoria.

5-htp/Tryptophan. Regulates mood and sleep. Doesn't seem to have much of a noticable effect by itself, but heightens Serotonin production and lack of Serotonin makes you feel really shitty. It's can also be a good idea is to take Niacin to avoid the Serotonin you make to be converted into it.

Lycine. Increases well-being overall. Slightly sedative and stimulant at the same time.

Glutamine. Similar to above.

Good luck.

I bet in combo with something like a source of choline and piracetam this kind of stack would be quite productive (for me, as piracetam and I tend to get along).

For someone as broke as me though, these kind of supplements get expensive. I'd prefer to benefit more from eating a wide variety of foods, vipassana, yoga and exercise.

It's not exactly comparable to any food. They are much more intense than that, almost like soft baby drugs. Definitely worth considering for those who tend to turn to alcohol and things like that (+ a healthy lifestyle).
