I used Ambien today. 2 pills (10mg each). It was about 8:00pm. I headed out to meet some friends in town. I started feeling the effects in twenty minutes from ingestion. What happened, was as we were walking, I started acting funnier and funnier. People understood me, and what I was trying to express, and communicate. Things I was trying to say were things like "God sent us here for a reason..." or something along the lines of "We're all diverse" and shit like that, I talked about karma when there was a fight between two kids. Nobody understood me, they'd just nod or give a look of misunderstanding, and they'd look away. Ambien is one WEIRD twisted drug. I think the basic thing Ambien triggers, is the ability to communicate. You get these thoughts, legitamite thoughts in your mind, and you try to express them...but the people totally don't understand what you are trying to say. To me, the things I was saying, perfectly made sense. But the reason why people don't understand me, is because another side effect of this drug...the ability to communicate. Right now, I honestly don't know if I'm making much sense writing this, because I'm still on this Ambien somewhat. Have you guys experienced this crap with Ambien as well? I hate being misunderstood!

Moving to Other Drugs

HA, thats funny all the ravers arent discussing the drugs they do, just the next party.
Anyway ambien is a fuck up of a benzo, its not chemicaly a benzo but affects the bz receptors like they do, so you have a really different drug that just tries to affect you like the benzos do, and fails miserably, in fact it was developed because the industry wanted to have a sleep aid as good as a benzo with less abusable potential, and voila you have ambien.
I have had it before and couldnt fall asleep period, it kept me awake, and caused horrible hallucinations, in fact it was more like the nasty come down from acid where your head feels all fucked and shit but things are still moving, it sucks ass. I cant believe it made it through trials but i suspect it had some capitalists behind it pushing it through even though its quite ineffective for a lot of people contrary to what the makes claim.
In any case that reaction is typical, it very much resembles psychosis from my experience, you have no clue that what your saying is bullshit because to you it sounds genius. Other reactions have happened too not just that, but thats what i noticed mostly. I wouldnt seek out trying to get ambien nor waste money on it, you can get real benzos just as easy from the same sources you get ambien.

trip -
have you experience these effects after using it for the first time?
i have an overnight flight to europe tonight and was considering dosing on Ambien in hopes for a restful sleep. i haven't tried ambien, nor any benzos, in the past. what's the likeliness of it working in reverse, hindering sleep?
thanks for your time

the problem with ambien as a sedative-hypnotic is that it acts selectively on GABA receptor sites(like benzos) without acting specifically on the GABA receptors that regulate anxiety (which benzos do act on).
So if you have any degree of anxiety when you take it, it's probably not going to work, and at a higher doses you get the potentiation effects described above. I still don't understand why people insist on attempting to use this drug recreationally.
It's a really inferior product, and I suspect this new shit called Sonata is much the same--they try to market these things as super short-acting sleep aids that won't leave you groggy in the morning, but the fact is they don't really work for a lot of people.
Sinth:
if you're just taking 5 or 10mg for a flight and you're not prone to anxiety, the likelihood of experiencing any of this shit is probably slim.
But what you really need is a short-acting benzo like Ativan.

haters... ambiens a trip, def. different than anything else ive done, for reasons mentioned above. its really not that fun, but an experience all the same.
i cant believe its legal; in fact, its the only perscription sleep aid that pilots for the major airlines are allowed to take.
i strongly advise against mixing that shitte with amt in large amounts of either, its too surreal to know its fake, if that makes sense. i sure would like to see what it and alot of k would do, tho. my guess is i wouldnt remember anything, but thats why we have voice recorders, cameras, etc.

Might this also go to Psycodelics Forum? Might get some additional info there. (even though it IS an "other drug"...)

As women are bereaved, so shall your mother be bereaved amongst women.

Sonata is very inferior to Ambien. Sonata seems to cause rems and dreamy thoughts without actually putting a person out. Ambien is easier to fall asleep with, much better for a trans-Atlantic flight.

It only works to "trip" a couple of times...then it starts to help you calm and sleep.
At least that's what I've noticed in my/my collegues experiances with it.

hmmm.. ambien did only trip me out the first few times, but after that it wasnt a calming/sleepy feeling. more like just being some weird kind of cracked out, but not sleepy or lazy a la benzos.
