Curious if anyone has any dosage suggestions for Ambien CR's. I'm interested in hearing dosages for recreational use and dosages for opiate withdrawal. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have any experience with "tripping" off this shit, but as far as withdrawals go; I mean, it's not rocket science. Take enough to fall asleep, and save it for just that.

I'm sure plenty of people will chime in in a second.

Sorry. Thought I was in the right place.

As for the "obvious" way to use it during opiate withdrawals, to me it's not quite so obvious. I'm not going to just keep popping ambien until I can walk and pass out and call that the right dose. I'm looking for some words of wisdom from someone who has experience an opiate withdrawal aided by taking Ambien. Of course, I'm interested in recreational dosage recommendations as well.

Bump

Anyone out there use Ambien through opiate withdrawal. I'm sure some of you have. Looking for feedback. Please help me out here. Thanks.

never used it for withdrawal but i have a significant tolerance to opiates. For me a recreational dose doesnt start until the 40-60 mg range. id snort em too. hit you faster. with a lil bit of weed and sometimes you'll hallucinate. your short term memory goes out the window tho when youre on it

Be careful with Ambien. I definitely felt a bit of relief during the first couple days of my Suboxone/Methadone withdrawals (which was bloody hell!!!) but don't plan on sleeping on them lol. I couldn't even sleep with 1mg of xanax, when I usually KO with .25mgs. I've taken up to 50 mgs of ambien in a 15 hour settting. I hope I was able to be of assistance. Feel free to message me if you have an questions. I was taking 10mg zolpidem (ambien) btw.

Personally, ambien has never done anything to tame the beast of opiate withdrawal. Just makes me feel even more out of it but not the least bit tired, even in pretty high doses ( 60mg or more).

You also may be better off with regular Ambien, not the CR's. I'm not sure if you'll get a lot of recreational effects from the extended release versions but I could be wrong. It seems you'd just have to take more of them at once to get the same effects you could get with the IRs. Plus the IRs are generic... = cheap.

But for opiate withdrawal relief I could definitely see the CR's being more beneficial. The CR's are 12.5 mg no? I'd take at bare minimum two of those to get opiate relief; ut you may have to go higher up than that just because of the extended release business. With regular IR Ambien I'd suggest 20mg minimum, so with the CR 25mg (2x 12.5) initially you won't feel much but it will build over time and help you relax even though it may not knock you out.

IF you want to be knocked out, then you'd have to up the dosage a bit more; maybe take 4 of them so 4 x 12.5 = 50 mg... should hopefully let you sleep but ti depends on how bad your WDs are.

I've used ambien many times to help with wd's. it doesnt help take away the rls , stomach issues or the chills. but it does help in high doses to produce at least a few hours of sleep and take away some of the anxiety. usually need 50mg at a time. I do insulfate it as it hits within 5 min or so. For me insomnia and the anxiety are the worst part of wd's... be careful though, ambien addiction is very real and can happen very fast. I've found taking 4-5 soma's with ambien works best to take away the RLS and aids in sleeping along with taking ambien.

after doing boy for a few years and quitting cold turkey I found it helpful to take 4 CCCs with 1mg of clonazepam : 2 to 3 times a day... it wont necessarily make sleeping any easier but it took away the craving, the anxiety, and most of the dope sick feelings... which in turn made it easier to pass out sometimes at night... did that for almost two weeks till the physical withdrawals passed... then deal with the psychological effects of enduring each day while your brain is functioning as what feels like sub par--- it comes back, just takes time and focus
