Hello, I am new here but suffer from severe anxiety. I work in the mental health field (for now until I break)
and have heard mixed results using ambien for daytime anxiety. I was wondering if it worked since I ran out of clonazepam. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I wouldn't think so. I haven't tried ambien myself but from what I've seen, users can do uncharacteristic or dangerous things if they stay awake on it, and don't remember what they've done. I don't think I'd risk it.

I've only taken it once, and a single tablet was enough to knock me out. I tried my very best to stay awake as I wanted to experience the visuals my friend told me about, but it was impossible! I guess if you have some benzo tolerance it wouldn't be so hard to stay awake on it, keep in mind it has a pretty short half-life though so you'd probably need to redose after a few hours. I'd suggest trying half a tablet and maybe taking the other half once you can feel the first half wearing off?

It tends to be highly impairing and pretty briefly acting, so no, it's not appropriate. This topic is not really pharmacologically specific, so I'm going to go ahead and close it. We don't really 'do' what medication should I take threads.
