Harm Reduction Ambien and Suboxone. Do subs block the effects of ambien?

I'm exhausted. I haven't slept well in days due to anxiety and family emergencies. I'm on a maintenence dose of 16mg suboxone a day. Tonight I decided to take a 10mg ambien to help me sleep and to have a nice feeling. Nothing. I took another 10. I feel a mild something that is neither putting me to sleep nor making me feel good/relaxed/euphoric. Does suboxone make it so ambien basically doesn't work or is it something else?
 
Anyone? I'm going to lose my mind if I don't sleep and I was looking forward to the warmth/pleasurable feeling of ambien before I go to bed because quite frankly, I've been miserable and need a break. Does being on suboxone make ambien not work and therefor I shouldn't take it? Is there anything I can take to help make ambien work while I'm on suboxone? Thank you

I used to a long time ago, before I got on subs. I don't take them anymore though.i was really looking forward to finally having sleep and positive feelings... a respite from the morass of my life. 2 pills, nothing. What should I do? Tomorrow I have to go back to my mom's and she has developed a severe drinking problem. Christmas night was a disaster because of that. Now I just want to sleep and not be anxious and maybe a little high. Help!!!!!

Ive never taken ambien but i get zopiclone every month. You dont wann takwe so much you blackout. I would say take 1 more for now
 
The answer is no.

Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) is a partial agonist/antagonist. If you don't know much on this subject, the takeaway here is that Buprenorphine will only modulate the effects of Opioids. Specifically, it blocks higher proportions of Opioid activity as the dose is increased.

Relevant to your question, Opioids and Z-Drugs have no relationship of this kind. Fun trivia for those playing the Bluelight home game:

Z-Drugs to a lesser extent and Benzodiazepines are antagonized by the drug Flumazenil, though this is typically only found in Emergency Departments and similar places.

how did you take the ambien? did you take it and walk around waiting for it to work? because if you did you fucked up. LAY DOWN FIRST.... GET NICE AND RELAXED. THE MORE RELAXED THE BETTER/ FASTER IT WORKS. But it you get up and get your heart rate up by sitting or standing up after you take it. it doesn't work for me. LAY DOWN, GET RELAXED, THEN TAKE IT AND STAY IN BED!!!🥰if need be take 2 especially if you have any stimulants in your system. NO you're not gonna die. I've taken 3 at a time with a regular 1 a night tolerance or less. I'm 140 pound female

Ambien works while on suboxone. Ambien is not an opiate and works differently. Rehabs often prescribe subs with ambien for people to get some sleep. As always, be careful with doses as you know ambien induces sleep and buprenorphine can suppress the respiratory system. If you're stable on a suboxone dose and take a reasonable dose of ambien (i.e., one that would be prescribed), it'll work and if you're in good general health you'll be fine.
