We ordered an ounce of these Siberian Grade A's along with some HWBR seeds (see my other trip report) and we finally got around to trying these yesterday (although we did smoke some before).

We each ate 5-6gr and none of us really had ate much within the past few hours. We smoked a bowl about 5 minutes after eating them. They were pretty harsh tasting. I almost gagged while I was chewing on them!

Within maybe 30 minutes we all said we felt a little different, but I just felt high pretty much, although I felt higher than I would off of one bowl. But this continued for the next half or so and still didn't feel anything. We all agreed we felt mellow, but not even a body buzz really or anything. We smoked another bowl or two in the next or two, but after all that we still were just kinda high and mellow. By 2 or 2.5hrs, we figured nothing was happening (and nothing did) and I ended up just coming down off the weed until I smoked later.

So, at first we thought we were feeling the mushies, but I guess not. Had it not been a weekday we would've ate like 10g's each. However, 5g is still listed as a common dosage, so I thought we wouldn't felt something.

Consider yourself lucky...

Siberian Shamans ate Muscaria because it was the only entheogen that grew there. Fortunately today we have other options.

i ordered some of these before. i ate 15 grams and smoked some weed. Th effects i got off these mushrooms was distorted vision and a little bit of naseau. Nothing like liberty cap shrooms or any kind of shrooms that make you trip.. These shrooms are not worth ingesting again

I wouldn't advise eating these mushrooms. The effects aren't exactly pleasant or amazing, and they can make you sick. Thanks for the report.

I concur with those who say these mushrooms are not worth it.
I tried them and had distorted vision for a while but couldn't really enjoy it because the mushrooms made me so tired.
Eventually I went to sleep and had a vivid but ordinary dream.
Nothing really to write home about.
I woke up and the effects had worn off, and in a way I was glad, because I think in some way I don't ever want to wake up tripping.

Many will disagree with that statement Splatt and I have read more than one glowing report on these mushrooms.

To the origional poster of this thread....5 grams is not a lot. Siberian shamans would generally consume around 30 dried grams. Perhaps yours are not very strong (potency varies as with any psychoactive plant) and 5 grams may just not have been sufficient to produce the effects you desired.

They grow naturally around this area in Australia, and I often see them when walking. I guess my doses were a little low, but I am scared that the "poisen" effects I felt would increase if I took more. It was not exactly a buzz, more like something that makes you feel weak and sick for me.

I'd be interested in the more intense reports on these species though!

As per every damn amanita thread, I am going to have to disagree with mass opinion.

1) These mushrooms are not inherently 'shit' - the fact that most people don't seem to enjoy them does not necessarily say too much about the mushrooms themselves. Many people DO have very positve experiences on them, underlying the extreme importance of set and setting.

2) I have read several reports of people taking amanitas ordered off the internet. And almost every such report has told of an experience that was disappointing because the trippers found the mushrooms extremely devoid of potency. This makes me highly skeptical of online sources.

3) As I and other 'pro-amanita' bluelighters have said countless times in the past, the mushrooms must be PREPARED properly before ingestion so that the poisonous ibotenic acid is converted into muscimol.

4) As MGS said, your dosage was too low. If you want a full-blown trip, I recommend at least 30-35g of dried (and prepared) amanitas.

But anyway, thanks for reporting. Hopefully some people will read this and realise that contrary to what some say, mere contact with this marvellous mushroom will not effect horrible intestinal torture and near-certain death.
