Am I super fucked or just kind of fucked?

First post on here, FNG

Heres the gist of it:
-I live in Idaho
-Im under 18
-I have no previous criminal record (couple traffic tickets is all)
-Last August I got busted for weed
-got put on diversion for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia for 3 months
-Did almost everything I was supposed to for it
-2 months into it I failed a random drug test ( I know, not very bright)
-January I went and pleaded guilty and got sentencing moved to my county
-currently waiting to go to court for sentencing in March

My parents didn't want to get legal help because they say I should just deal with the consequences instead of trying to get out of them.

Couple questions..
What do you expect/predict to happen?
Anything I can do before court? Get letters from teachers, bosses, coworkers?
Any advice for walking into court/ talking to judge?
Should I just kill myself now or?

I also have a job lined up for the middle of march, but it might be hard to work without a license, is there any way I can help not getting it taken away? Or am I probably going to jail anyways?

I doubt jail time for just one failed drug test but the diversion is fucked.
They'll probly give you probation for a while. im assuming you're already on monitoring.
Dress nicely, talk to the judge respectfully.
don't kill yourself, you're not facing 25 to life here... you are NOT the first young person this has happened to!!!
 
Good advice. I would be interested in the penalties for the original specific charges there for a juvenile. Possession shouldn't amount to much, especially as a minor, but don't take my word for it. Maybe call the county or city solicitor to discuss and also write a letter to the judge, apologizing for the mistakes, stressing that you haven't been in trouble like this and how worried you are that it will impact your pending job/career.
 
I should also note that the solicitor's office for juvenile court may be separate from the city or county solicitor's office. At any rate, friends have had various levels of success with contacting solicitors and judges, so it's worth a shot. And those were for adult charges, so I would expect apologies and regrets expressed over such -mistakes- would be considered that much more as a minor. Good luck.
 
At the moment, you are somewhat fucked. But after a months You'll be relieved to know it's getting getting better and that you made it out all by yourself and you will be really about proud about that part :) my mom worked with young criminal offenders and they usually find their few after a few years with their records not holding them back a whole lot.
 
Just talked to the prosecuter.. Feeling a little more hopeful about it. She told me she will do her best to make it not ruin my life.
 
I hope everything looks up for you - although, in my state at least, possession isn't that serious of a charge even for a minor. You failes one drug test, yeah, but they can't go TOO hard on you.

Killing yourself should never be an option. In time, life improves. Be patient and good luck :)
 
Okay so apparently im looking at 6 months unsupervised and a fuckton of community service, im okay with that. But now im kind of worried a out something else.. I smoke about 1 to 3 cigarettes a day and It's a given I'm going to get drug tested.. Will the stoges show up?

lmao... damn i miss bein a teenager...

but yea 6 months unsupervised is what i got for possession a few years back... no community service tho lol...

and also unsupervised means you wont be drug tested and you wont have to report anywhere (even tho at the courthouse they told me they could piss test me everyday, they wouldnt but they would def do it atleast one time, which they never did... and i have friends from other states in the NE that had the same thing happen to them and they never got tested... that shit is mostly a scare tactic to try and make you not do anything) ... but i never had a court date or anything, i got a ticket, went to court,pled guilty and the judge told me i had 6 months unsupervised and told me how much i had to pay (which was kinda funny cause i also got a ticket for following to closely which was a 5 dollar fine and 160 court cost and the weed was zero dollar fine with 160 court cost... smh.. go figure rite?) but yea anyways its just a misdeminor it honestly shouldnt effect your future job prospects in anyway, also, atleast around here i was able to get it exsponged (or however the fuk you spell that) from my record after i finished probation... sooo you can keep smokin but just be really careful about fukin around cause if you slip up it will def not be good...

you live in the valley don't you, I live in the valley. if you know what I mean, small mountain community with ski mountain.
 
I'm told that some community service can be bought. Surely varies by area. Others can be a good source for where to get credit, if you're free to choose. Even probation officers can give tips on where to "best" do community service.. as hard as that is to believe...
 
Soulmedicin I saw that you have some 25i in some other threads and thats exactly what is around where I used to live! I moved to the western side of the state a couple months ago though, but seeing as how it was a fairly small town where everybody knows everyone i could almost bank on that we knew each other or a friend of a friend
 
You'd better put together a good case. And have a good lawyer.
No shit, I was found with 30 kilos of cocaine in my wall. 30 fucking bricks. And I only got 3 and a half months. Why?

Holy shit og thats insane, but i bet you give a lawyer enough caine he can do a pretty good job ;) but joking aside, its okay i went to court and got 6 months with review to get off in 3, about $100 in fines with court costs and all, and 0 community service. Im pretty happy about it!
 
You really shouldn't ever talk to the prosecutor without legal representation. Did you waive your right to counsel? Have you been offered a public defender? The prosecutor is not your friend and may try to fuck you beware.
 
It wasnt the prosecutor, it was my future PO and she tried to help me quite a bit actually. Weird deal, but I already went to court so it's all good now!
