am I packing my bowl wrong?

If for some odd reason I'm smoking a nug without breaking it up, I turn it over. Not sure if it does anything. I have a grinder though, so my pot's always ground. :)
 
I highly recommend getting a grinder, it will make your smoking experience more enjoyable in my opinion. Not only are your buds broken up evenly providing you with a better smoke but if you get a nice grinder with a good screen you can get some really nice keif. I have a mendo mulcher and I highly recommend it to anyone. They are tough as hell and I have never had a problem with them.
 
If the whole bowl isn't fine ash that you can easily crush into nothing with your finger afterwards, you're wasting weed. Break it up.
 
break them up into tiny bits and just kind of put them in the bowl. it will burn better....

as your smoking you can kind of pack it down....
 
So I attempted to do another one, this time with a whole bud so I could get an idea of how those guys do it.

It failed, I choked like fuck (I smoke anywhere from 1-200000 times a day, chokings a rare treat.) dropped the bong, and my phone. Now i've got a shitty bong water covered phone. :(


Gotta go sort that out tommorrow. :( gay ass bluelight. :(

I was told that if you have really headdy weed with a lot of visible trichromes you shouldn't break it down a lot. if you break it up with your hands a lot of trichromes fall off or attach themselves to your fingers. I know that if I'm smoking a J or a blunt of headdies and I break the nugz up with my hands they get tacky so i'm inclined to believe this is true. A grinder with a keif catcher probable solves this. Also, if your was weed cured right it should burn easily.
 
You don't break up your bud when you pack a bowl? If you don't break it up, the fire has to travel around the bud and through the hole in bowl, but if you break it up, there is tiny air holes which allows the bud to be burned more even and you should get thicker and better hits. I use a grinder to grind my weed up and then pack about .1 for a nice sized hit in the bong. Try to break up your weed and let me know if the weed burns better and you get better hits.

isn't that a pretty negligible amount though? plus, breaking up dank headies gives you the blessed experience of sniffing inside that beautiful ganjer.
 
I don't break up headdies with my fingers if I'm smoking a bowl of some kind but if I want to smoke a J and all I have is my fingers I'm gonna use my fingers and smoke. If I'm smoking outdoor or something thats generally of a lesser quality I really don't care. It probable is a negligible amount of trichromes that end up on your hands or the table. I can't say I've ever been smoking and thought "this dumbass broke the weed up with his hands" or noticed anything really. I just have a few friends who are very knowledgeable when it comes to weed and they agree that its best not to break good nuggets up so I follow their advice. I haven't had trouble lighting headdies since they're usually dried pretty perfectly and burn easily and even but mediocre weed is def hard to hit if it hasn't been ground or broken up. I've broken up headdies with my hands before and had trouble rolling a joint after because the trichromes I could've been smoking are making my hands sticky. I'm also not saying don't break the nugs up at all just break off the biggest possible piece u can fit in your bowl. I'm really just following advice I think makes sense I won't argue that I can tell a difference.
 
After i break my green up I queeze a little ball of it together and just drop it in the bowl then semi loosley put the shake in, dont smash it in there or it clogs, but this way does help it from pulling through on a non resin covered bowl. I just started doing it one day, thought it was a great idea and it works for the most part.
 
I break up bowl nug by hand and use my lighter to push it around if it looks like it's not completely kicked. I dislike using finely ground tree in my bowl as it pulls through (i take large carb assisted hits) much easier.
 
usually i grind so i can collect the keif. I've been pretty broke for the past couple months so I haven't bought a bag, but I've still smoked everyday off the kief i've been collecting from grinding weed for the past year!

If for some reason I'm packing a bowl outside or in the dark and my buds not pre-ground ill break a nug into 3-4 pieces, and then poke at it a bit to break it up some more after taking a couple hits.
 
OMG well i amazed.

Smoking a well chopped mix from a appropriately sized cone is what you want to do. If you have the 3$ or so for a brass cone, you can buy various sizes and work out the exact ratio of weed to lung.

I personally love a fine mix with tobacco in it. Its not shameful to have tiny cones, although this is mad inconvenient when you smoke with a large group as you comparatively get a lot less weed. My old neighbour who was awesome till he met my friends used to give me 1.5 cones for his one as he was able to pull through fuji's without trouble.

I think the is a degree of condensing that goes on when you leave the smoke in the bong, even for the period of time it takes to exhale. Anyways im fucking looking forward to xmas bonus and pay day as im getting a oz of Nimbin weed. yeah yeah talk about your strains all you want but in my four years of abusive smoking + 2 of trying i have never touch such elegant weed, just so good. Sorry to ramble but i havent been smoking this week so christmas and new years was be pleasantly toasty.

Oh also screw anyone in the northern hemisphere its fucking 38oc here. And im watching a storm move in.
 
You mean people don't break up their bud....what is this world coming to lol.

Get a coffee grinder. Best 10 bucks you'll spend.
