Hi All
I have 40 - 7.5/750 Hydrocodone tabs on hand and have yet another dosing question.
Background.
I'm 62, 250 pounds male 6' 11'' tall
I have taken Percocet lots of times,
The last 4 or 5 times 20mg, got me a nice buzz with no problems.
I have not had a perc like in a year and a half.
So when I got the hydro i figure I was good to go at 3 = 22.5mg
Well hears the thing.
I did not feel a thing from the Hydro and was very nauseous the next day.
This was 2 months ago.
Well I have read a lot of post on nausea and ginger seem to be the thing, great!

I'm like I am going to give this one more go and if its a bummer thats it Hydro !!!
So my plane is to have my ginger on hand, do a cwe on 30mg and "enjoy"
Reasoning 30mg of Hydro = 20mg of oxy.
Am I off base in my thinking hear and also am I putting self at risk give my age ?
( I do have a little high blood presser )
I would appreciate any thoughts from experienced members that mite help guide me.

Hi there, welcome to BDD!

I've edited the title of your post to make it clearer what you are asking, I hope that is okay.

You are right, 20mg oxycodone = 30mg hydrocodone according to conversion charts, but these don't always work perfectly and people can respond differently to different drugs.

Ginger does help nausea a lot in my experience, as do antihistamines (especially the older 1st generation ones) so it's worth a try, and I'm glad you are doing a CWE! 30mg hydrocodone might be too high a dose if it's been over a year since you had any opioids and at that point 20mg oxycodone had you good - assume your tolerance has returned to baseline. However if you didn't feel 20mg hydrocodone (apart from feel nauseated) it may just be that it isn't the drug for you..

30 mg hydrocodone sounds like it would be fine done CWE. You are not opiate-naive, though you don't have much tolerance, you didn't feel much but nausea from 22.5 mg, so yeah you are fine. You will loose a little bit of the hydro in the CWE, but not much if it is done well, and then almost all of the APAP is out of there, which could aggravate nausea. If you feel nauseated from the hydro, lie down, seriously lying down is very underestimated in treating opiate-induced nausea. Sometimes users regard hydro as more sedating than oxy, some regard it as more stimulating. A good number of users have actually recognized that hydro is euphoric in a way that oxy is not, and prefer hydro, unfortunately for many of them, there tolerance doesn't allow for easy hydro use. Just let the hydro high roll over you, or any opiate high for that matter. Let it do you, not you do it. Kind of a weird thing to say, but with opiates that is just how it works best, at least IMO. But, no, you are not off base. You seem very educated and responsible as far as your drug use, something that is always good to see.

Yes you should be fine!! AND ALWAYS remember to watch and make sure you don't exceed 4000mg of APAP I def wouldn't even go past 3000 but your perfectly fine with that does but just reminding you!! Stay Safe!

EDIT: And i meant don't exceed more than 4000 or 3000mg of APAP in a 24 hour period!

As noted by others, CWE'ing the pills will reduce the amount of APAP to a "sane" level (not fatal, anyhow).

Your prediction of 30mg Hydrocodone is fairly spot-on, however you'll lose some during the CWE process (though I'm sure you knew that). As effie mentioned, 1st gen antihistamines are excellent for both potentiation due to a slight increase in sedation, as well as getting rid of some of the itchiness caused by histamine release. Good examples here are diphenhydramine (DPH / Benadryl), and promethazine (if available to you).
