Am i a "drug seeker"?

I have chronic hip pain, i know what drugs i want and what my tolerance is... If i were to have a doctor who didn't want to give me drugs because he thought i was a drug seeker, what should i say? I mean technically, i am seeking drugs but for a legitimate problem. If he asks for drug history, should i be honest? Should i be honest about anything? I tend to be an honest person but i'm not sure if this is the time for it. When we get down to talking about my hip problem can i request a drug that i'd prefer and recommend a dose that'd suit me? I just want an opiate, preferably vicodin, one i can get high off of every now and then as well as fix my pain.

If you want a drug you can get high off every now and then, then I'd say yes, you are a drug seeker. If it were for your hip pain only then I'd say you wouldn't have to be completely honest.
 
I don't really know how to respond as I'd like to 'appropriately', do feel free to edit if this is phrased poorly or not in accordance with guideline/s. I apologize in advance if necessary.
I think it's about how you're going about it, that's the issue/problem. (ie. wording) Currently, the way you're approaching your Doctor, you couod definitely (w/ reason) be labeled a drug seeker. That's all for now... I'll see if/how others chime in.

We can't really tell you how to get drugs, if that is at all what you're looking for.
 
I wouldn't suggest a drug, unless you were ever previously prescribed it and can prove it. In my opinion anyway.
 
obviously i wouldnt be telling him that i'd be abusing it occasionally. i guess if i hadn't mentioned that this also would have been a legitimate thread.

woamotive thats the purpose of this thread - i want to know how to not come off as a drug seeker.

Its easy. You be honest about your pain, and you get what you get.
