I used to be scripted Dexamphetamine for ADHD, it worked amazingly well, like turning a light on in a dark room. Unfortunetly it also destabilised my mood massively. I really dont want to take sodium valproate cos it makes my hair fall out, lamictal isnt strong enough....What about Clonazepam? I know its addictive etc but as long as the dose doesnt esculate it should be ok right?

If amphetamine (a stimulant!) worked indeed well for you, why do you seriously consider then taking a depressant (clonazepam)? Isn't this a bit counterproductive?

Just a question...

also I wouldn't be surprised if there were compounds that affected acetylcholine levels in fish oil (like DMAE) which in my experience these acetylcholine donators have had profound effects on my affective state (stimulated, upbeat, euphoric, also; edgy, mood-swings up and down more drastic, more emotionally expressive). Also, acetylcholine levels are implicated (theoretically) in inhibiting somatostatin levels which is a hormone that is part of a negative feedback loop with (ie shuts down) GH, which is lipolytic substance (meaning it burns fat) and also noted for its general mood enhancing properties.

It is amazing how the body and mind are so integrated.

Reading around on the site, it seems that there are a few people who are outspoken proponents of piracetam use for alleviating mood instability. It may be worth a shot.

It is virtually impossible to use any benzo on a daily basis without escalating the dose. You will eventually start getting tolerance-withdrawal.

yes this too. I took today AMT (low dose around 7mg snorted) and a gram of piracetam and was floating in a cloud of happiness all day long.

I think you'll find other sodium channel drugs to work better than a GABAergic- just because it's an anti-convulsant doesn't mean it's going to stabilize moods.

The fish-oil won't work,in my case it didn't and my shrink said its also her observations. There was probably only one or two studies claiming it does. And then note that its only the EPA (Eicosapenatenic acid) and not the DHA part of the omega-3 fatty acids which allegedly has the mood stabilisation property.1g or 10g appeared the best dose,in between curiously not.

Aniracetam is doing wonders for mood stabilisation in my case! And the side effects are rather positive thann negative.

FIsh oil contains omega 3 fatty acids, which through some way increase serotonin levels, and are also essential for synthesis of endocannabinoids, eicosanoids, and other neurotransmitters. That might be the mechanism by which it enhances mood.

I'm taking omega 3-6-9, and it's definately improving my well-being.

what are your dosage levels of the aniracetam Hugo? Do you dose every day and do you keep your dosage constant (or does tolerance set in?)?

klonopin could help and taking the same dose everyday may b fine,u just wont feel az much from it after a while.

Constant dosing,750mg in the morning and 750mg in the evening,if necessary can be raised to 3x750mg,taking into account the time of action of about 6-7h.No tolerance,in fact one makes progress with time.Well they recommend taking it for at least 4 months anyway before effects should become apparent.

Another interesting "side-effect" is its ability to counter restless-legs,possibly by its mild DA reuptake property. And you can pee better, contrary to all other treatments which always have a certain degree of anticholinergic effects affecting peeing, restless legs and cognition.

I remember when I was taking a good fish oil supp along with escitalopram at high doses and it literally knocked my depression out, I was almost euphoric and had tremendous sense of well being. Alcohol and drugs meant I stopped dosing as I didn't see the point (all or nothing thinker). But I am excited about fish oils AD properties.
