Alprazolam ER recreational dosage question

I'm prescribed 1 mg alprazolam ER for my anxiety (twice daily), but they honestly don't help much so I figured maybe I'd try to obtain a buzz off 'em. I've looked around the internet about recreational ER alprazolam doses but never find much, but I've read from a couple articles though that the pill releases 1/4 of its payload every 4 hours. Does this sound right to you guys? I usually take 4 mg of IR to get a decent high, so should I try 16 mg of the ER? 250 micrograms X 16 equals 4 mg, so it should work out to be a nice all day high. What do you guys think, worth a shot?

I don't know a lot about alprazolam ER but a lot of ER drugs can be converted to IR just by crushing them up. If its tamper-proofed you will just ruin it though. If you do go through with this, be warned, alprazolam is highly addictive and the memory loss you get from high doses is insane. I went through 60mg of IR in four days, I remember almost nothing from the binge and my overall timeline of my whole life leading up to that point is all distorted. It was hella fun though and a good story so I would say it was worth it

As above poster says,crushing them could bring them closer to IR.

I dont think that you should up your dose by such a huge amount you mention,the pill will still get released slowly but that massive dose could bring unpleasant side effects.

A good idea maybe is to crush them and let them dissolve in your mouth or sublingually,i always do this with certain benzos(flunitrazepam which tastes good) and i could swear i get quicker and stronger effects/onset.Only problem is that alprazolam tastes horrible and for me its impossible to hold it my mouth until it dissolves.
Doing that though maybe would bring it closer to IR..

If you don't want sub-lingual you can still parachute them and have a faster onset. Just crush it up and either swallow the powder or wrap it in paper and swallow that.

I would but these stupid things have that gel matrix like the new oxy op's have, so it all gels up when it hits liquid, the matrix cant really be beaten :/

Every now and then I take a benzo or an opoid sublingually when I wanna come up quickly, so I definitely agree with you that the sub rout his faster. These stupid little bastards have that gel matrix though like the new oxy op's, so there really isn't any way to beat them, they always gel up when they hit any liquid, even if it's crushed in powder form. The only way to really take these things is to swallow whole, even splitting it half is pointless.
