Aloha,

I am a wicked mushroom lover, sometimes people warn me that one day I might turn into one hehe

I have been reading on this forum for many years now, but thought it would be a good idea to start posting stuff every once in a while

I have a small question, don't know if I will get an answer to it here, but I'll ask it anyway...

Can anybody tell me if there is a good description somewhere about writing trip reports? Is there a link to be found where one can get a description of what should be in the report to make it usefull? Thx allready

I have read the stuff at the trip reports page, but it does not really give a good overview anywhere. It only mentions how the title should be written...

Hey! Welcome to BL! Hope you enjoy your time here :)

A good trip report should have a sort of "scientific" approach taken to them. (I am not so good at it myself). Basically, you want to try and write down in order all the effects of what you experienced, what you did, how you ingested the drug, how much, how it affected you, etc... You dont have to write a novel but a good solid 3-4 paragraphs would be a good start. Just try and give as much information as you can. Its not too hard and we aren't grading your papers and your not turning it in for school :) Also, make sure you dont have a lot grammar/spelling errors and try to break it up a bit so its not one long paragraph that is hard to read.

Sort of how this post looks. Of course you can always PM one of the trip report moderators as well and they can give you some more tips if needed but thats really the jist of it. Looking forward to reading it!

Take care and if you have any more questions dont be afraid to shoot myself or any of the other mods a PM. I am around quite a bit and you can also find me on AIM. My handle is the same there as here. Take care!

Aloha and thx for the welcome,

I wrote this little piece this afternoon and wanted to know if you guys have any remarks, or something I overlooked that should be added? And also, if I should post this in another part of the forum then please let me know...I am new to this so please bare with me :-) And the emailadres I mention has been made especially for this, so no worries about sharing it out in the open...

We want your story.
As a part of our ongoing investigation into the sclerotia experiences, we need your help. We want your story, your recounting of your experience to become part of our database relating to sclerotia, a.k.a. magic truffles. The data we gather in this way will help us to build a knowledge base about sclerotia in order to get a better view on the subject at hand.

A good trip report should contain the following elements:

Who: if possible as much background information as one can give. What is your cultural/political/religious and educational background. Is the user experienced or not, also mention when possible with what substances.

Where: where did you get it? Where did you consume it. This might be seen as a question about the setting, again the more detailed the information the better. Also mention if one was alone or with other people.

What: what exactly is being consumed, substance and dosage(and if possible the weigth of the user)

When: this is the easiest one...

Why: if possible can you mention the reason for consumption? Recreational, spiritual, or any other intention one might have had with the consumption. If one did not have a clear intention then it should be called recreational.

How: how did one consume the substance. In the case of sclerotia, did the user just eat them, or make a thea or dry them first? Did they use something(other food to discuise the flavor?) with it?

When all of these practicallities have been answered one can move on to the core of the report, namely the story of ones experience.

It is important that a timeline is given as good as possible. The experience of time most often is different from our every day experience, so being able to give an indication about the time past, and how this was experienced is, to say the least, interesting.

The main part of the report can be as short or as long as one wishes. Try to make the text as readable as possible, use paragraphs and try to make as little grammatical mistakes as possible. Try to include as many observations as possible, i.e. at fifteen minutes in I felt this and that...

And then off course, send in the report to [email protected]

We assure you of complete anonymity. If however you feel there is more you want to share, please insert a way for us to contact you. This will in some cases be used to contact you for an invitation for an in-depth interview.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. And be aware that any report, short or long, about a good or bad trip, is very much appreciated.
