HELLO what the fuck do i do, i just ingested 240 mg codeine, and am now experiencing a massive allergic reaction.. This has NEVER happened before, i have often used much more than 240 mg

how did you take it? did you drink alchohol or take anything else? how long ago did you take it?

also did you drink any grape juice today? for now makesure your around someone sho can call an ambulance incase though i doubt youll need it

histamine reaction happened to me as well you will be fine in a few hours

codeine causes a HUGE histamine reaction.

i used to take 400mgs at a time and it was torture. I felt super hot and painfully itchy. I strongly recommend taking an antihistamine (like Diphenhydramine) 30-45 mins

before you dose your codeine from now on. That helps tremendously.

Hey bud same thing happened to me, first time I ever did codeine. What I did was drink water, showered, & lotion helped lots! Without the lotion I woulda went insane. Last time I ever did a substance like that

If this happens again I suggest putting about 1-2 tsp or so (dose not sure: please look up and inform yourself) of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it while it is still fizzing. It will make the body more neutral pH which can help with these reactions. At least, it can with true allergies.

This is very common if it is an "itch" that you are asking about.
The word "allergic" is vague, for example, I am allergic to seafood, it makes me sick and my eyes swell up..........this is also an allergic reaction.

IF you are asking about the itchy skin or minor skin irritation/rashes that manifested when you took the codeine then taking an anti-histamine would relieve the symptoms.
As the above posts have said, it is common with opiates and codeine in particular.
That is why many cold & flu medications include an antihistamine and others would include an antihistamine with anti-emetic properties.
The anti-emetic (anti-nausea) ingredient is also combined with various strong and controlled painkillers for this very reason.

It's up to you to decide if the reward is worth the risk, and you can even speak to your pharmacist for further more accurate advice.

50mg of diphenhydramine will fix it or any 1st gen anithistamine, promethazine and hydroxyzine (though u'd have to take it after the codeine hits)

other than that may be a good idea to keep an epi pan handy just in case.

I used to take codeine quite frequently w noadverse effects. One day out of the blue i got so itchy and red i had to take all my clothes off, couldn't stand the feeling of blankets and had to stand under a shower a long time. It was a terrible terrible feeling, so you have my sympathy sir.

I did 350mg a year or two ago when I was opiate-naive and this happened to me. You just need a lot of anti-histamines.

I had to go to hospital because my face sswelled up and I was clawing at my skin with the burning itch. And my blood pressure flat-lined so low I couldn't even sit up.

Call an ambulance if that happens to you.

If you are just severely itchy/swollen eyelids, you need a bunch of anti-histamines. Benedryl and/or Promethazine Hydrochloride are my favourites.
