Alleged Crack Dealer Used Business Cards

http://news.aol.com/strange/story?id=n20060126072009990002&cid=936

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (Jan. 26) - The business cards got a response, but surely not what their owner had in mind when he had them printed up.

They came to the attention of Leavenworth police, who used them to make a drug arrest last week.

Sylvester J. Williams, 21, of Leavenworth, was charged Monday with possessing crack cocaine with the intent to sell it, Maj. Patrick Kitchens of the Leavenworth Police Department said.

Kitchens said Williams remained in custody Wednesday on $75,000 bond.

He said police had heard for some time that Williams had been selling drugs in the area. "Then we heard that he was handing out business cards," the officer said. "In the course of our investigation we were fortunate to come up with one, and we gave him a call."

Kitchens said the business card had an image of what appeared to be an alarm clock being hit by a boxing glove and said: "For a quick hit on time call the boss."

"When he answered, we agreed to buy some crack from him, we went up there, and we arrested him," Kitchens said.

The arrest was made Friday.

"It makes our job considerably easier when they advertise and let us know where to get ahold of them," Kitchens said.

^^^ I hear ya rocklobster, that's why I had to post it. ;)

And people wonder why I get so irritated when they mention specific places, venues, ect...

Are people really *that* stupid???

The most jaw dropping part of this whole article is that you KNOW that he thought those business cards were a wonderful idea.

Must have watched Half Baked recently.

hahaha how dumb can you get, he was asking to get caught.
i too would like to see what the card looked like.
this is priceless.

Maybe they just had dopeman and a phone number on it the risk would be acceptable imho , if you look at the way most dealers give out phone numbers

Whats so bad about buisness cards?

I know several dealers who use buisness cards.

Its pretty simple.

1) Get someone in Mexico to register a pay-as-you-go cellphone

2) Export the cell from Mexico (or another foreign country) to your country of operation

3) Pay somone to pay somone to pay somone to register a mailbox in their name or fake ID and pass the keys on to the original person

4) Buyer calls the cell, dealer arranges deal, buyer meets a runner on the street, runner takes the cash, provides keys to mailbox

5) Buyer visits mailbox, opens and receives their order, leaves keys inside the box (spare keys are had by dealer)

The good dealers can run over 100 different boxes in a single town. All boxes are expired after 3 months, the same box registrants are never used again, fake ID's are commonly used by third party registrants as well.

If working on front the drugs are left in the mailbox, the buyer picks up, and overtime deposits cash into the mailbox.

You also wanna make sure if your keys have the printed name of the mailbox company to totally deface it, so that if keys are seized it becomes harder to trace what kind of mailbox and with whom.

Of course, this isnt for small time deals, more like for an 8-ball or up. No one goes through this effort to slang a gram. But I dont know many peeps who will sell anyless than an 8 ball anyways.

The point is, it creates a system that protects the dealer. The runner has not committed a crime simply by taking the money, as they need to provide the drugs if its an undercover agent. Since the drugs are not provided by hand, and the runner is long gone by the time the drugs can be retrieved, it becomes increasingly difficult to track the origin. Tracing the box will lead to a dead end. Tracing the cell also leads to a dead end. Tracing the runner leads to a dead end if you run it true sophistication, which is to hire a lookout for the runners, who follows at a distance and monitors their encounters with others. If something looks suspicious they report back and the dealer and his setup can leave the location before the runner and his police friends arrive.

Of course the most sophisticated of sophisticated motherfuckers will have the runners with lookouts on em goto a location where all money is pooled, a money export location of sorts, and the individuals there then export the dealers money to an overseas country where it is laundered. Then the dealers left in the position of pre-loading his brand new mailboxes with orders, and taking phone calls. Becoming more or less impenetable to local authorities. All the while their offshore accounts blowup with money.

Ive seen various variations of this method some more secure than others, of course it takes alot of organization to get the right security for your buisness.

holy shit Sphinx, this method is fuckin nuts, ingenius but fuckin nuts! haha...have you attempted this system on your own, or is it just a theory?

God man.... was he that lazy and stupid to get customers this way??

it works, thats all you need to know

but theres tons of ways to go about such. one of the most creative ive seen was a guy slanging this deep brown doope in clear baggies, and he was taking the baggies and sticking them onto the bark of trees and theyd camoflauge in beautifully, and he had a few dozen trees they each had a small black spray painted number somewhere on the trees base. Hed load a 'sale' onto the bark of a tree in the park and walk off. His partner would then make sales across the way, and direct individuals to the park and their tree number where theyd have to spend a good 5 minutes trying to spot their bag. The seller would cell the 'tree loader' and let them know the description of the person coming and what tree they were sent to. Once they came and picked up, theyd reload.

On the re-load, a second tree loader wearing differnet clothes would take the originals position and load the next amount and stand by. While this happened the first tree loader would wander off to a safe location and change clothing, then be back to the park to load again while the other went off to change. Theyd cycle like this all day and night long, to minimalize surveilance.

It was, in a sense, dope growing on trees. I dont think its the most sophisticated and safest method, but its definetly creative, and sometimes that creativity is what keeps the cops from catching ya.

Any method you can invent that results in the dope being given to a user by an inanimate object verse a person, is a method worthy of exploration.
