Cocaine Alkaloids absorption and alkalinity

Cocaine HCl absorbs much better through the mouth when it's activated with an alkaline substance such as baking soda. I dont know about the house, but nicotine for sure absorbs better in the nose when it's mixed with an alkaline such as ash. So makes me wonder if cocaine HCl would work better when mixed with an alkaline. Baking soda is too harsh, but ash is milder. Problem is cocaine is already caustic, maybe not a good idea.

But with other alkaloids the principal surely applies also. With cocaine it's easy to test it in the mouth because it makes your mouth go numb so thats an obvious indicator. With nicotine it's easy to tell in the nose because you either feel it or you don't.
