aleph-2

^ Oh, yes, this does sound like an awful idea.

Trust me. Bad trips are not in any way worth the misery you have to go through. I mean, yes, it's interesting to know that such a deep layer of hell actually exists, but instead of finding out for yourself, why don't you just take it from me? :P

I feel I need to clear something up here. I would NEVER intentionally ingest a drug with the sole purpose of creating a bad trip. I've had a bad trip before (only one, and by most standards was probably relatively tame), and it scared the hell out of me. Why would I want to experience that again out of choice? Reading the PIHKAL entry for Aleph-7 doesn't only suggest a fully negative experience (more an emotional flattening rather than forced depression, some pleasant-ish effects were also noted in the subjective reports, albeit limited) but also describes some very interesting perceptual changes.

I'm particularly interested in the phenethylamine class of drugs (aside from the variations in psychedelic headspace) because of the incredibly strong effects they have on mood, happiness and anxiety. DOC enhances the "dynamic range" of my emotions to a great degree when in the headspace, sharpening the emotional response if you like, both positive and negative. On the other hand, MDMA attenuates the negative aspects of my mood. 2C-P and 2C-I also generally strongly improve my mood, but are more like a hybrid between MDMA and DOC in their response. I therefore am very interested in characterising the particular idiosyncrasies that set the different phenethylamines apart when it comes to mood and anxiety. A phenethylamine that has an effect which doesn't fit the pattern will naturally interest me, as it would be unusual when compared to the other experiences I've noted from using other phenethylamines. Reading the entry in PIHKAL is not suggestive that the only outcome from using Aleph-7 would be a bad trip, only suggests a flattening of mood was experienced when this compound was trialed.
