alcohol is probably the lowest euphoria-producing drugs. so its pretty easy to lose the 'magic'. for example, i used to like drinking somewhat, but after a long run with opiates it actually gives me the opposite of euphoria (dysphoria?)

there is a low amount of euphoria which can be obtained but u gotta dose everything at once.

I know - that's my reaction too! But lots of people I know do say alcohol is euphoric for them.

Sorry to bring back and old-ish thread. I was just searching for reasons why alcohol is not pleasurable for me. Furthermore, I was wondering why, even after a glass of wine or a bottle of beer, I feel horribly nauseous and am more then likely to develop a nasty headache. Suffice to say, if I continue drinking, the hangovers I get are worse than any 'comedown' and can leave me feeling awful for up to 5 days.

So can anyone say why alcohol is (apparently) extremely euphoric for some and a total dud for users like me? I understand that people have a genetic intolerance to alcohol, but I thought that this was just limited to people of Asian decent - of which I am not.

I also stopped getting that nice feeling from booze, all I get now is a headache and a horrible night's sleep. I have to consume huge amounts to even get drunk anymore, and I have to keep drinking rapidly all night long to maintain, or else I will just piss myself sober really quickly.

Yeah, you just have to give it a break. Your body is now just dumping it out because it has fully recognized it as a poison, and goes into hyper-drive to remove it.

Plus, I hate feeling sick so damn fast after week or two after a binge.
It's like I'm instantly in a hangover.
