Alcohol Alcohol Megathread

I'm a medium heavy drinker. Never two nights in a row, try to space it out as much as I need to. I drink probably 15 beers (or equivalent in whiskey) two or three times a week.

Last night I bought just whiskey (tired of too much carbs/having to go piss every 20 minutes) and just started doing shots.
Crazy thing is I was completely sober until I was almost 1/2 done the bottle. Like no effect at all. I managed to get drunk but I almost finished the bottle, which is unheard of for me.

Question is why did pure whiskey not work? Also why does "mixing" different types of alcohol give a stronger effect?

Like I said it's mostly beer but I've been switching over to whiskey for a number of reasons.

Tolerance always seemed a little random to me. When I was dependent on alcohol, some mornings half a bottle of wine would be enough to stop withdrawal and other days I'd still be shaky and sweating after two bottles. I agree it's weird.

I think whisky gives a different more subtle drunk than beer. Beer you feel happier and more energetic. Because of the hops I've heard. Also beer is carbonated and hits you faster.
You're still getting just as drunk it's just not hitting you as fast and as euphorically
you will feel it the next day.

I’m not an alcoholic, but I am addicted to illicit benzos and ambien. Drinking sometimes hits me hard from a couple glasses of wine. Other times, I won’t get much out of a 40.

I’ve always assumed it has to do with all the drugs I’m mix with the alcohol, but maybe there’s more to it than that (e.g. absorption, liver enzymes, food).

So basically I just don't eat food anymore. Not that I don't want to. I just can't.

I never wake up hungry. Around late afternoon I usually feel some hunger then I have a bite or two of something, immediately get bored of it and disgusted by the prospect of eating any more of it.

The thing is I used to eat healthy even when I was drinking hard and doing drugs. But now for some reason I just can't eat. And it's been that way for several months now.

I usually drink a gallon and a half of wine a day, do some speed and smoke a little weed. Which is the same habit I've had for a while(only alcohol consumption has gone up, I still only do speed not to pass out in the middle of the day and weed is just a joint a day type of thing). But now I can't even look at food.

I don't even know if I'm losing weight or not cause I don't have a scale. But I don't feel any different from how I used to feel when I still had apetite for food.

Is this a normal thing? Anybody got any advice?

Take mirtazapine, it's the single most potent appetite stimulant we have currently, even people who had chemotherapy get it sometimes. It made me crave fast food when I usually need to watch out to eat enough. More tricky is not to slip into malnourishment specially when you don't cook often for yourself.

I'll try it out, thanks.

You can try MK-677 to increase hunger. It works for me. It also gives very restful sleep and will make your body produce more Growth Hormone
I've heard about that one. But isn't it just used mainly for growth hormone deficiencies? And the increased apetite is just a temporary side effect?
