currently 4 to 5 beers a night
with like 3 weeks sober within this yr after i checked myself in into detox but a serious issue happen so i relapsed
within 24 hrs i get bad anxiety no other signs of anything no shaking, no sweats nothing

i asked my doc once when i was around 2 to 3 beers a night and she said there was a chance to exp some very low WD like anxiety nothing to crazy if i CT
i dont want to ask again now at 4 to 5 beers

long story short im ready to get sober i hate relying on alcohol to fall asleep and truthfully thats why i drink and the other reason i continue to drink is because of all the scary shit ive read online about going ct yeah i know worst thing i couldve done

currently have 30x of 10mg diazepam and 30x of .5mg ativan
a multi vitamin

any suggestions on the best route to battle wd if i exp any?
going to detox in no longer an option
or any tips i could use?

i already tried to taper off but anyone who is a serious boozer you know tapering off isnt an option
i attempted it more than a few times i can get only so far before i give in

or better yet what should i look out for? any signs or symptoms ?
im prob getting the anxiety due to how bad i fear exp WD's

any help would be appreciated

How long have you been a daily drinker? If it's just been this past year, and in the quantities you have referenced you may not experience physical symptoms. If you do get a little shaky, try 5mg of diazepam. I strongly recommend finding a therapist to help address the issues you have that are compelling you to drink. You mentioned anxiety, talk to them about how to manage your anxiety. Ideally, without benzos as benzos are not a viable long term solution for anxiety - they eventually make both anxiety and alcoholism worse imo.

Alcoholism is a progressive disease, and will keep getting worse. You will most likely keep building a higher tolerance as it continues, so it's best if you can get a handle on it early (3-5 drinks a day isn't too bad ;). Talk to your doctor about naltrexone or other medication that helps with cravings. I tried several medications in my journey to recovery and have found naltrexone to be the one that worked best for me. I was drinking between 18 - 24 beers a day, or evening as I worked 8-5. I finally went to rehab (twice) as I couldn't stop on my own. I give you kudos for doing something about you're drinking now before it gets worse. Be careful with the benzos and drinking. I don't want to get off topic, but they only exasperated my alcoholism and getting off of long term benzo use is pure hell.

Good luck! Feel free to hit me up with questions - I have two years sober. Alcohol was my DOC.

Forgot to ask in my previous post, what is your benzo use like? I noticed you have diazapam and Ativan on hand, do you take benzos daily?

You're probably just experiencing rebound anxiety the next day. If you're lucky you could possibly clear it up with 10mg diazepam for a few days, then 5mgs, then nothing and see how you go. 4-5 drinks is usually not DT territory. Phenobarbital and diazepam are the 2 medications used in alcohol detox centers.

I have a mate that drunk 2 bottles of wine a night for 6 months and didn't get any withdrawals. But yes, better safe than sorry. You've got Valium which is good.

And the anxiety you are getting is real. It's physical. If i have a big night I get it the next day so that's why I don't drink anymore.

By the way, don't mix benzos with alcohol if you're not already doing that. it massively compounds the issue.
