I know this has been done before but ca someone give me some searching tips.

I read the concensus is that it's not worth it but it's helped me the last few days. I'm on day 4 and still nausous and weak although I am sleepig better with the benzos and alcohol. I'm not much of a drinker anymore but find it nice when I am not trying to sleep.

Anyway, Sorry that this has been done before, can you point me to another thread or offer some advice. I feel like shit right now. Cheers.

Loperamide is a life saver in opiate WD, I would seriously consider obtaining some, it is an OTC Opioid which doesn't cross the BBB, so effectively it is great to stave off WD's but you can't abuse it.

Check out the BDD and OD forum for lots of information on opiate WD's.

The one thing I would say is be very careful with the alcohol, an awful lot of people who come off opiates end up addicted to alcohol so make sure things don't escalate!

Are you coming off both of them at the same time? I'd personally recommend coming off one first then the other, makes it a lot easier to deal with.

EDIT: Misread your post. ^ what wooger said, i'd also recommend benzos over alcohol as it's a lot easier to measure your dose, lot more controlled effect and longer half-life & duration.

Drinking during opiate wd is a horrible idea. Everytime i have done it it has made the physical as well as mental withdrawals much worse. It increases nausea, diarrhea, dehydration not to mention the fact one is quite liable to trade a opiate addiction for alcohol addiction which is trading a bad addiction for a much worse one. The DT's make cold turkey hydromorphone and morphine wd's look like a wet dream in comparison.

Get some lopermide and try and keep yourself hydrated as much as possible with Gatorade, soup and anything else you can stomach. Drinking is just going to make wd's worse simple as that.

Cheers and thanks all. I'm definitely not trading in one for the other. It was a bad idea and everything paranoid android said was spot on. Much better now. Couldn't get any Lopermide so loaded up on klonopin and xanax which helped.

Alcohol makes withdrawals almost a cake-walk for me. Being drunk somehow takes away most of the symptoms and does wonders for my mental state. Drank everyday once I was awake (WOAH, yeah I actually could sleep :P) and made it like 6 days. Then scored again just cause I wasn't actually trying to quit, just dry.

Using Amphetamines while in Opiate W/D on the otherhand....I could quit forever. Or so I like to tell myself.

I'm on Addys right now, just had to delete a huge disjointed rant I typed up that I've since deemed useless.

Copious amounts of Beer and good weed are the Absolute only ways that I have found to get to sleep in WD.. even on day 2 of hard withdrawal after about 10 beers and a decent amount of a good strain I pass out like a baby.. until of course the sun comes up at which time I always wake up with horrible restless legs unable to get back to sleep so then I wait until I can do it again.. horrible cycle but does what it's suppose to
