I have had about 10 beers and took 2 .5 Xanax that I get prescribed. I drink with my Xanax and I'm fine. Will this be a dangerous combo?

It is possible that you'll be too sensitive to the effects of alcohol if you are taking Xanax.

It is dangerous if you have been doing it regularly or even a few times a week.
Doing this regularly will give you a bad benzo habit with horrible withdrawals.
This is because both benzos and alcohol act on the gaba receptors, which keep us calm and relaxed and stop us losing it or going to pieces.
Drinking alc while taking xanax will scramble your gaba receptors, they will stop working of their own accord and you will start to suffer horrible withdrawals. At this time, you will be tempted to take more xanax and the problem will just get worse.

Get out while you are ahead, if you must do this, make sure you have a will of iron and do it only very occasionally, once a year.
I am a recovering benzo addict who drank alcohol so I speak from expeirence.

Benzos and alcohol is something I'd suggest really, but since you've taken Xanax while drinking before, and experienced no problems, I don't see any issue with a low dose of Librium while drinking. 0.5 mg Xanax = 25 mg Librium, or about that much, just so you know. I wouldn't overdo the drinking either. Taking a little of both can get you feeling nice if you don't have much tolerance. Just be careful with the combo, you don't want to be in danger of either od or recklessness caused by the combo.
