Alcohol and antihistamines

So how is that sedating antihistamines are safe to take with alcohol even when the former is taken in massive doses and the latter taken in mediocre to heavy doses..?

i was just curious.. whenever i drink i make sure to use diphen to potentiate the booze and i almost never black out from the combo.. the exception being ofcourse when i havent slept for a few days up on meth and then take the potent cocktail in which case i almost always blackout..

whenever iuse diphen on its own [or any sedating antihistamine for that matter], i always experience heavy sedation to the point of nodding out on my couch.. yet its never the case when i mix it with alcohol..

Youd think that using the 2 togethr would be a recipe for disaster.. however its not the case at all..
although whenever i use alcohol with any other type of gaba agonist or sedative, its always blakout city for me..

why is that??

Antihistamines are not gaba agonists or work on gaba at all, and its the gaba-a agonists that have the potent amnestic effects (blackouts).

alcohol is an exitant and a depressant... i find when i mix rather copious amounts of benzos with booze i stay awake easier than booze alone, which makes me just feel tired and zonked out

well in my experience benadryl kind of merges you with sleep and esp. nightmares, your basically conscious without the self aware part, while gaba agonists simply knock you out. But yeah, enough benadryl will make it easy to pass out or have nod like hallucinations.

as for the combo, ive mixed weed, zopiclone (gaba sleepaid), lorazepam, alcohol, benadryl, tobacco, all with each other and every other combo, i did about 2 of everything with 5-15 benadryls or no benadryl but 5-15 zopiclone and at the most i blacked out, i admit maybe a little brain damage here and there. when they say its not safe, they are being extra carefull, like the limit of 3 benadryls ALONE. but realistically youd be unlucky to die from combos unless you wanted to die. even then your more likely to survive and etc.

I did that combo and had to go home from the bar I was starting to feel really dizzy. Wouldn't recommend it. Everyone is different though.
