I wonder what would happen if you would apply the same kind of pyrano-ring structure to AMT or DMT...
Both are known compounds, the AMT version is called AL-37350A, compound 11 in J Med Chem 2003;46(19):4188-4195, and the DMT version is compound 1 in J Med Chem 1992;35(20):3625-3632.
They are both active 5HT2A agonists in vitro, but I'm not sure whether behavioural studies have been reported. In general the indole derivatives have higher affinity for 5HT2A whereas the indazoles are more 5HT2C selective, so AL-37350A probably would be subjectively superior to AL-38022A, assuming both compounds cross the blood brain barrier etc.
