(First time IV use, and alone). . It was a 2mg dilaudid pill, filtered through sterile qtip type of applicator. So the plunger became stuck as soon as there was blood in the syringe. After removing, no matter how hard it's pushed on , the damn thing is clogged ,apparently. So what to do now? It was the only dilaudid. Does it get transferred to a new thing, and retried, even with the blood in it? Or what? The blood did not really mix with the solution, and IDK if it usually does. Instead it stayed mostly in a really dark "clot?" near the tip. Is that normal? Also, the syringe was a 29 guage insulin syringe 1/2 inch 100cc/ml.
*wtf? After the plunger was removed the entire solution is stuck in there... it wont even come out of the back . Do you have any ideas what this all about please?
Is there a chance that it occurred when the tourniquet was loosened ? It was pretty tight ( I think) and there was definitely a sort of blood rush while the syringe just flopped there sort of dumb like. ??? I have no idea .
