Heroin After IV puffy skin bump?

Hello,

In the past I have IVed dope and it was normally successful. I myself am not good at shooting up so normally I get someone else to do it. When I do, occasionally i fail at it and miss and there can be a big sometimes painful skin bump btu I always assume it is because I missed or the needle I used was used one too many times.

A couple months ago my gf gave me a shot in the hand and then later on I found a skin bump on the fold of my arm where i used to shoot? I don't know how the bump showed up a foot and a half up my arm. It scared me but within the hour it slowly got smaller then disappeared.

I just shot into the "main vein" on the fold of my arm and on the first prick I saw a little spatter of blood come into the stick so I pulled back and it filled with light red blood so I don't know if i had it or hit it then moved and missed the vein. within 1 minute I looked down and saw another bump but it was a crazy weird shape it almost looked like it was the shape of an animal with a loopy tail. It's going away and almost gone.

Does this happen to anybody else?
 
Could be a histamine reaction. When i would miss i would get red lumps and whatnot.
 
If you succesfully registered, it seems like you hti the vein.. The proof is in the pudding, though; if you got a rush then you know you hit.. If it took like 10 minutes to feel it and it came on slowly, then you missed and it absorbed into the muscle/subcutaneous tissue. The bump you got could definiltey be a histamine reaction.. I have gotten this many times, when I am 100 percent positive I didn't miss. It's like a large mosquito bite that subsides over a short amount of time. sometimes there are a number of them that seem to follow my vein up my arm.
 
Thank you. Yeah I've had the same problem when you say they follow the vein up your arms. I've had bumps appear like 8 inches away from where I shot.
 
Ive gotten histamine reaction from IV shots of morphine over the years that scared the bejesus out of me and i didn't miss at all on these occasions. One time my arm broke out in hives for about half a hour which really scared me. Granted my arm did turn bright red around the injection area of where a doctor gave me a shot of morphine so this can even happen under the most sterile conditions. Ive never had heroin before but no doubt it can cause the same thing.
