Hey everyone I heard about this site from a friend and I thought I'd make an account. This is my first post on here so hello everyone.

Anyway, I just need some advice. I've been blazing daily for about 6 months now. It did not interfere with my high school grades but now I'll be going into college. I cannot afford to screw up in college as I need good grades so I can transfer to another school. Anyway, from your guys' personal experience, can someone who smokes everyday maintain good grades in college? I know it depends on the person but I'm just looking for a general consensus. I ask because I'm debating whether or not to take a long break or not. Thanks.

It's entirely based on how you function high. I have no problem getting my daily shit done and going to work and everything while smoking and/or drinking every day, but when I was in college I couldn't really do both. Something about homework makes it impossible for me to do high. Figure out what kind of person you are, and if you have to restrict your smoking to the weekends or not busy nights.

A good thing to start off with would be limiting yourself to smoking only after you've finished all your important things for the day

thc prevents you from going into REM sleep, the phase of sleep in which you dream and short term memories become long term. the way it effects memory makes learning extremely difficult ime. if you have trouble recalling what you did yesterday its giong to be even harder to recall everything you learned along with all the details.

the mind learns best sober. my drug usage has only made this more apparent to me.

I smoked everyday from freshman year to jr year in college, a good school as a double major. I'm psychology / philosophy and I have a 3.26 GPA and a full ride. It's important to get your work and studying done first and not put smoking before it unless you can legitimately learn and retain information while high. A lot of days I would wait to smoke until right before bed, but at least I could everyday.

I agree that it depends on the person, but I smoked daily, graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor's, and am now only 3 classes away from having my Master's degree. And, still smoking daily. It can be done, but I agree with waiting until you're done with all your work at the end of the night to keep yourself in check. I've seen drinking really destroy people's GPAs, so that's really where you need to watch out.

I smoke multiple times a day almost every day for my entire 4 years in undergrad, and I graduated on time with a 3.32 GPA. It would have been a lot higher (no pun intended), but real life started getting in the way, along with other drugs like coke and benzos, around late junior year. Before then I had around a 3.65. I studied high, I wrote papers high, I took tests high, I went to class high... It depends on the person, of course, but if you're a daily smoker and you don't feel like your brain shuts off when you're high, it's certainly doable.

Of course, I was a poli sci major taking lots of philosophy and comparative literature courses, so I was mostly writing papers about abstract ideas, which goes perfectly with pot. I didn't have to take any difficult math classes or any hard science classes at all, but if I did, I may have had to sober up a bit for those ones.

It does depend on the person but to me I enjoyed walking into math classes stoned. as well as chemistry, going to school stoned for lab work..
If you feel like you are not up for it then let your tolerance go down and leave smoking for the weekends

Agreed, mostly for people who get hangovers. With weed, you just have to manage to get yourself out of bed which is harder for some people than others, but with alcohol most people are just dead to the world the next day

I smoked during college, every day during senior year + 2 years of grad school.

I came out with 3.x GPAs, and my worst year was freshman when i wasn't taking shit seriously.

Smoke sparingly, and try to put your schoolwork first. If you can't do work/study high, then you will not be able to smoke every day.

why not smoke after homework/class, that way it's like a reward or something to look forward to after the pressure/work of class and homeworks and if you do your work then get high you wont forget to do shit cause it'll all be done and you can relax, chill, and enjoy your high..

That is honestly your opinion, because when I bike dusted, I learn more shit cause Im more willing to try shit, so therefore in certain cases you learn more when you holdback less(as in when you're sober) not saying this has anything directly related to the topic in hand, but that is a very ignorant statement that the mind learns best sober, infact you learn more thru trips because it allows your mind to open up.. Just saying fool, but yea weed n stm aint dat great of a combo, I'll literally forget where I put the blunt down 5 seconds ago lol and go looking for it, so yea it cud fuck wit some memory shit, but I believe it allows you to open up and channel more thoughts aswell as other perspectives on things thus leading to great understanding both physically and spirtually aswell as mental
