Advice Needed: Stopping low-dose subutex

tldr: tapered subutex to ~1/2mg every other day to as long as 7 days... What should I expect if I stop? I have 20mg remaining. So I have crohn's disease and I've been on subutex for almost 3 years as a result of a fentanyl prescription that lasted for two years treating crohns related pain. The pain was real and existed, however I had become hypersensitive to pain. Most pain I felt was a magnification, however some did exist from crohns so I was moved to subutex. Went from 37.5mcg, (25mcg patches, 1.5 every 3 days), to 3-5mg of subutex initially, and I have averaged 1.5 to 2.0mg per day for two years. Since last spring i've been trying to reduce my dosage, and for the last 6 months atleast I've been able to easily go 1mg a day (filling #30 2mg pills every 2 months), currently I'm refilling every 3 months and still doing okay. Currently I'm at week 11 of 12, and I have 10 pills or 20mg left. So I'm stretching these out and I'm generally okay. I'm not entirely myself, irritable, mild temperature regulation problems at times, and mild cold sweats. I usually try to sit with this for one or two days and then I'll take as small amount of subutex as possible... The question is at what point do I just stop taking subutex? I don't have "cravings" for fentanyl, or in the past year given much thought to what it fentanyl felt like. Should also mention that two months ago I started MMJ which has significantly reduced both crohn's related symptoms as well as helped reduce the dosage of subutex with minimal stress thanks! PS. If this is posted in wrong spot, or is more ideal else where, please let me know

Hey citizen and welcome to BL:D

Doing the every other day thing will not produce many positive results.

Happy to hear the canibus is working well!! You may want to try a high CBD strain like the harlequin. Its has both thc and cbd.

I'm glad you realized the opiates create so much more pain when used chronically. Your pain sensation will regulate back to normal in under nine months.

You seem like loperamide might be the ticket out for you.

Here are some medications you may wish to explore with a physician.

medications for acute opiate detox

The medications I would explore the use of for detox would be:
>Clonidine< DOSED EVER FOUR HOURS..

one of either
>NEURONTIN< >HERE< >HERE< >here<
OR >Lyrica<
OR >phenibut<

>A BENZO BUT JUST AT NIGHT<
>a nsaid<
>melatonin<
tylenol
Senokot S is a stool softener and laxative. If you do not want the laxative you can go for strait stool softenerDioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

(Opi Withdrawal) what is the best comfort meds for opiate w/d?

Your Personal Opiate Withdrawal Arsenal

What to expect?

Well to be frank your gonna go through withdrawals bro for good while; best to get some of the comfort meds above...

good thing you tapered down that helps; I jumped at .5mg and its still sucking ass 14 days later... it does slowly get better..

mmj will help a lot

See if you can taper to half that amount (0.25mg/every other day). Everyone that has reported jumping off at 0.5mg/day after a long period of use reports severe difficulty.

If you can taper lower than 0.25mg, even better. I hear plugging liquid solution is the way to go for this (since you can control the strength of the solution to where it has, say, 100ug/ml).The lower the taper, the less shock you'll experience.
